I stay at quite a lots of these type of hotels across the country and this was definitely one of the worst. The building is in a poor state with crumbling concrete and poor paintwork. One of the chefs was smoking outside when I arrived which did not look great. The receptionist I met was pretty unfriendly, he barely look... More

Booked a bargain break, very good value. It's true the hotel is shabby and needs a face lift but the room was very comfortable. The one course dinner that came with our stay was excellent, beautifully cooked chips, steak and chicken and all well presented. Our Portuguese waiter was charming. Would certainly book this deal again.

The room was... More

good location within walking distance to the towns restaurants, theatre, parks etc. Car parking is free, staff very friendly, room comfortable. Unfortunately the standard of cleaning in the bathroom left a lot to be desired. Breakfast was just ok. nothing special.

Me and my partner recently visited here for afternoon tea. As we walked the reception staff stared at us like we had 3 heads. She told us where to go and would be greeted by a member of staff. We walked into the dining area where we was stood waiting as there was no one to greet us. We then... More

An excellent 3 star hotel. Stayed here with my three children and we were welcomed and accommodated like it was a five star hotel. Rooms clean and well stocked, friendly and patient staff. Menu limited but food was amazing. Thank you Falstaff we preferred your hotel to the 4 star we went on to in Oxford.

Had driven for three hours and attended a family birthday party and was tired and not looking to return home on the same evening. This was the reason for my overnight stay. The Falstaff Hotel was local to the family home and was expensive for an overnight stay which included breakfast. Was later told by members of my own family... More
