Had a deal on groupon for my husbands birthday for one night-upon arrival there was no one at reception, had to find staff. A young man checked us in and asked if we wanted a wake up call to which we agreed-we didn't get the call at 9am as requested! Room clean and basic, breakfast was unorganised, people waiting for... We stayed in this Best Western as part of a Groupon deal. Its always hard to comment on the value for money when you go on one of those deals because you are getting a discount anyway. Yes I would agree that the Hotel looks a little tired on the outside, although inside is pretty nice I don't have any... More

On arrival I'm stood at an empty reception which appears to be taped up along the edge of the desk. The receptionist is stood outside smoking looking at me through the glass doors but no rush . When she did come in I got "O" I did not see you !! Now I'm greeted with a smell of smoke on... More

Really the title sums up the best part of this hotel. It's; tired, dated, labyrinthine, badly laid out rooms, creaky floors, Police style 'night sun' lights outside bedroom windows that can even get past blackout curtains!, noisy (main roads on both sides), hot and muggy at night (no a/c and can't open windows due to traffic noise), mediocre and lukewarm... Please accept my apologies for the difficulties experienced. It is unfortunate that the matters highlighted could not be resolved whilst you were here. The hotel is undertaking some refurbishment works to a number of bedrooms and public areas. Although this does not excuse your experience I do hope it illustrates recognition of wanting to improve the overall guest experience throughout... More

I stay at quite a lots of these type of hotels across the country and this was definitely one of the worst. The building is in a poor state with crumbling concrete and poor paintwork. One of the chefs was smoking outside when I arrived which did not look great. The receptionist I met was pretty unfriendly, he barely look... More

Booked a bargain break, very good value. It's true the hotel is shabby and needs a face lift but the room was very comfortable. The one course dinner that came with our stay was excellent, beautifully cooked chips, steak and chicken and all well presented. Our Portuguese waiter was charming. Would certainly book this deal again.

Hotel downstairs in attractively decorated and very clean, dining area is super b/fast is excellent. However, we had a twin bedroom no.46, it smelt damp, wall that divided the ensuite from the bedroom had damp patches evident which had been disguised with a lick of paint be blatantly not treated, the bathroom itself was functional but shabby. The room was... More
