I have stayed at this hotel twice now and each time have found it completely acceptable. The free use of the leisure facilities is fantastic as a person recovering from an illness. The food in the restaurant is fantastic. Like i said, if you want the ritz, don't pay swallow hotel prices and then moan. Go with an open mind. more

had two nights here - from looking at previous review in 2008 nothing has chnaged. bathroom was damp, tap wouldn't turn off, grouting dirty. room smelt must and ?smokey. staff were unbelievably rude and offensive. its cheap but not cheap enough to think that this standard was acceptable more

Booked a 3day stay on the 15 Aug for £119 for two of us bed and breakfeast with Superbreak. Very handy for the M6. On arrival booked in no problem given room 319 and on entering the first thing that greeted us was the door of the wardrobe hanging on by one hinge, wall paper peeling off the walls and... more

After being in this hotel exactly a year previously and had a bad experience I contacted the management and put forward my complaints and I accepted the excuse that it had recently been taken over and was in the middle of a renovation programme. This year I had the misfortune to stay at this same hotel and it was a... more

This is not a luxury hotel. The corridors and public areas are tired and in need of de-1980'sing. There are no suited doormen and no concierge. A harpist is not playing in the drawing room. The leisure centre is not run by olympic athletes. Boys in pillar box hats do not walk through reception paging the residents to take a... more

I was rather aprehensive about going to this hotel considering most of the previous reviews were not exactly encouraging. However, my husband had taken time off work so off we went for a two day break, midweek. True, the place DOES look tatty and is in need of some TLC. However, all the staff, from receptionist, barmen, waitresses and chamber... more

Be carefull of this Hotel, I looked at a few booking sites and there was a big differance in prices, so I telephoned the Hotel direct. I explained that I had seen many different prices and asked for there best deal to book direct, we agreed on £45.00 over the phone. I was checked in by the lady I spoke... more

There's nothing good to say about this place and thats even taking into account that it is a chain hotel, which are always low on value for money. The reception area gives you the first clue, shabby and in need of a good clean - even the worst hotels usually make an effort here. Check in was laboured and without... more

After booking through superbreaks and reading the poor comments on this site and dreading arriving to this hotel it is not as bad as the people on here make it out to be. The directions to the hotel on the internet were spot on and on arrival we were greeted by a really pleasent lady called Mrs O'Hare who made... more

Very expensive for what you get. Firstly, check in is easy, but the receptionist was not very good at giving directions to rooms (through the double doors is of no use unless this is followed by 'turn left' or 'turn right' especially when signs are limited). The rooms are very small. Although clean, the bathroom is in urgent need of... more
