I stayed at the Tickled Trout as I was in Leyland on business last week as the local Best Western was fully booked. As I had a late meeting that evening, I had selected the TT as I had been informed it had 24 hour room service and I wouldn't have had a chance to dine until very late. Check... more

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Tickled Trout over the Valentine Weekend and attended the themed Murdery Mystery Night. When we arrived at the hotel we were promptly checked in and found our room to be very clean and well presented, all be it a long way from reception!. There was every amenity you required from Iron, Ironing Board,... more

We walked into the hotel having driven a long way and they offered us a room. There was a wedding party getting horribly drunk in reception but we eventually found our room- it was like a trek through a maze to find! The bathroom was clean but the room looked like a rugby team had had a party in the... more

Noise from the motorway and a dripping sound from outside my room added to a sleepless night. Tea making facilities were hidden away in a draw in the room and breakfast as an added extra proce of £17.50 is OTT. General appearance of the decor is shabby in places but the rooms are furnished well and the bathrooms quite good. more

Booked 2 weeks before arrival by calling the hotel directly. Requested a late arrival as i was coming in from the Isle of Man ferry. Told the reception was 24 hours. Arrived at 12:15 and found the reception was closed with a note to ring the doorbell. The night porter came and checked me in, the first shock i had... more

We booked the room for three nights. Room was not cheap! Was very disappointed in room and hotel in general. Furniture in room was circa 1960. Carpet was soiled. Staff was very pretentious. Drinks in bar were way over priced. I would have gotten better value for my money if I would have just stayed at the Ibis!!!! more

We had our Christmas work party at the Tickled Trout. The room only rate was £50 per night which is OK. The meals were OK but it appeared the hotel was understaffed for the event - it felt like there were too many people for the size of the room. The room was hot and stuffy & in need of... more

Here are the problems I encountered, Over £2.00 for a bottle of Coca Cola in the bar. The Ribble Room is in need of modernisation, the multi coloured disco lights are a blast from the 70's. The DJ is in need of a new suit and shirt that fit him. Overall I felt everything was overpriced. more

Stayed here before but a long time ago. Very easy to get to from the M6. Rooms are nice and the bar / restaurant is pleasant enough. Room sizes are good with decent fittings. The bathroom looked recently refurbished but undertaken to a moderate quality only. The shower screen leaked badly and flooded the bathroom. Complimentary bottles of water were... more

Having read other peoples reviews we were a bit worried about what awaited us at the Tickled Trout. However, MacDonald Hotels that we have stopped at in the past have always been excellent so we booked anyway. I am glad that we did. The location was extremely convenient for us, being just a few yards from J31 of the M6... more
