The website makes out that the hotel is a business-class establishment and wanting an upgrade from the usual Holiday Inn Express I thought I'd stay here. I can't fault the cleanliness and the public parts of the hotel, but the rooms and corridors are tired with threadbare carpets and sheets that have been repaired where they've torn. And charging £8... More

Me and my partner booked the dinner bed and breakfast deal, the hotel itself was lovely, the room was a nice size and was clean, the bed was comfy, we was very happy with it when we arrived. We booked in for dinner at 8pm and we was taken to a table that was in a quiet room with 2... More

In all honesty, I would give the Preston Marriot five stars because it’s a decent enough chain hotel and the staff are nice - if only it weren’t for their stingy attitude on Wifi. It’s comfortable, the décor is bearable, the curtains actually fit the windows – in far too many hotels, they’re skimpy and let too much light in.... More

We regularly stay at The Marriott when visiting the area, and it generally provides a satisfactory experience. On arrival, staff were friendly and efficient, although we don't like their policy of taking a pre authorised swipe of credit cards. Once in the room, the shaver socket in our bathroom didn't work, but all credit to the maintenance team who very... More

Me and my family have been coming here for years as a treat! We love the breakfast buffet, the choice is wonderful. The pool is lovely and warm, and has a spa too. We were given a room with 2 double beds, enough for us and my daughter. It's a bit annoying though that you have to ring up to... More

Stayed for several days whilst attending business locally. Room was very comfortable, clean and well kept. Bathroom very clean with great bath/shower facility. I ate in both restaurant and bar, both were great, food was excellent and reasonably priced. A particular nice touch was when I accidentally tried to order food in the evening which was part of a morning... More

Stayed here one night for business. Check-in etc was faultless - as was the bar and breakfast service. Room was compact but clean and did as required. Good internet availability and speed in public areas - having to pay extra to have in-room wifi continues to amaze me however not completely unexpected. Does make we wonder given the local no... This was a birthday treat for me from a great friend. My friends daughter and Granddaughter joined us, we had a good time. The afternoon tea was lovely, but the eclairs were a little stale. We would go again as we know that this was a 'blip'.

I travel the middle east extensively and don't usually rate British hotels but this one was fine. I visit Preston (son at Uni) every few months and like to try different places but I will stick with this one for the time being. Compact room, but clean and well stocked. Nice bed. The swimming pool was decent enough for a... More
