This is the second time we have stayed at The Bell, it is situated in a good spot in Tewkesbury, oposite the Abbey which is stunning, very close to the river, and handy for shops and lots of restaurants, Hotel is very olde worldly, good inexpensive food, good staff and very good breakfast.

We arrived at the hotel too early to check in but we were immediately made welcome by the staff and sat and had a drink outside the hotel opposite Tweksbury Abbey. The flowers in the tubs and boxes outside the hotel are in full bloom and absolutely beautiful. Our two night stay was very pleasant. The food was very good... More

On arriving at the Bell Hotel we were located our rooms, traveling with friends. The staff immediately noticed and re-located our booked rooms to two near each other, without us having to ask. Next the lovely blonde receptionist with a foreign accent asked us if we would prefer the ground floor due to my disability's - how kind. Her offer... More

We were looking forward to our meal, as we'd eaten here last year and enjoyed it. Unfortunately, everything that could go wrong, did. We got there just before the time we'd booked, but the table wasn't ready, first drinks order arrived reasonably promptly, but starters and second drinks order slow. Problem with starters, which is outstanding with management. Main course arrived,... More

My self and a group of friends visited the bell for a drink just before lunch while visiting Tewkesbury for the medieval festival 2014, the young staff and (I presume) the owner/manager seemed friendly and accommodating so upon noticing they served food we thought we would return for an evening meal. We returned and ordered our food and paid up... More

This is a lovely looking Tudor style hotel, not sure I liked the idea of the add on rooms, also rather small rooms. Bed a bit squeaky and only a standard double. Bar staff was friendly and the food at dinner and breakfast was good. Make sure you get reception to cancel your prepayment before leaving in the morning. My... More

This is a very old looking half timbered pub with rooms above it located across the road from the Abbey. Typical of buildings of this type it is a bit of a rabbit warren to get to the rooms and a struggle with heavy bags. The rooms which seem to be an add-on rather than the main focus of the... More

The breakfasts were excellent value and on the whole the hotel is clean - apart from the snail trails in the dining room and the dust on the fans, skirting and wardrobe(where we stored our suitcase). I notice another reviewer commented on this and I also agree about the noisy cleaning staff. I didn't have an evening meal as there... More

Was looking forward to staying at the Bell as it is a beautiful hotel but was disappointed. The room was tired and the bathroom dusty in places. We didnt appreciate being woken up at 7.30 to the sound of a vacuum and people talking loudly. The breakfast is from 8 - 10 but as we had a late night we... More

We took advantage of the £99 2 night break for 2 and weren't disappointed. It was excellent value for money. We also had our evening meals in the hotel and the food and service were very good. The only niggle we had was on the second morning when the waitress failed to come to our table to take our order... More
