When we booked in there was no one on the reception. When we found someone. The booking in was a couldn’t care less attitude. The Room was not in the main hotel: It was an add-on to the hotel though it was linked by a courtyard shape. You had access from the car park via a well-worn corridor. The shower... More

We booked this hotel a few months ago on a daily mail special deal. We have stayed in a few Old English Inns, and as we were visiting my Dad in Winchcombe, this seemed the best venue. We were very pleased we did. We didn't arrive until 8pm Friday evening, and we too had to pop in the bar to... More

When I read the reviews on here, I must admit I booked for 4 nights with some trepidation, particularly as our stay was a birthday treat for my octogenarian Grandma. However, my Grandma and I had a really pleasant stay. Staff were friendly and courteous and checking in was not a problem. We were based in the accommodation block, just... More

Great location in the centre of Tewkesbury and on the M5. Breakfast options are good and good quality and fast service however thats where the positives stop. The rooms are really run down and basic and need a good sprucing up. The bathrooms are sub standard with poor water quality. A good nights sleep is hard to get with the... More

I had chosen this hotel carefully based on the many reviews I had read. Probably I had very high hopes and my experience meant that I my disappointment was greater. There wasn't anyone at reception when I arrived and I had to go in search of someone via the bar. However, the staff were friendly when they were there. My... More

Dear Guest, Thank you for your review of your stay. I am sorry that we did not meet your expectations on this occassion. The wi-fi was re-installed on 6th August, so I am presuming your visit was prior to this. booking.com has now been told we have wi-fi again. I hope that you will continue to use old English Inns... Very much enjoyed our meal here despite one member of staff walking out having apparently had a row with a customer. It didn't affect the service we received and we would certainly return for a meal in future.

I have visited the restaurant for lunch 3 times in the last few weeks. There is never anyone to greet you when you arrive The service is virtually non- existent and mistakes are common on drinks and food orders. A mineral water took 30 minutes to arrive today and there was a shortage on one of the meals as They... More

Most enjoyable break using a Daily Mail promotion, had to pay as double no single rate, but still well below normal rate. Friendly staff, food good, room 21 comfortable but bathroom cramped and would be difficult for a large frame person to squeeze past the washbasin to toilet, however both sink taps hot, no cold. Used my bus pass to... More

Arrived for an early check in that had been pre arranged. Staff very helpful & arranged for a taxi to a wedding we were attending. Room lovely, squeaky floorboards added to the ambience. Bed linen crisp and clean and comfy bed and nice fluffy towels. Great selection for tea, coffee and chocolate (chocolate was especially nice). Staff were polite and... More

I don't have a lot of bad things to say about this place, but also not many good things either. Entering the reception for check-in there were a number of flies circling the centre of the room. It was a warm sunny day, so flies are not uncommon, yet not doing anything about them perhaps shows a lack of attention... More
