Worn out, terrible! Found stains on duvet showing through the duvet cover. Dried paint on lino in bathroom. Had to step over buckets and cleaning equipment in the mid morning after trailing through a rabbit warren. Dirty corridor walls...cracked paint. Floorboards creaky. Just disappointing! !! We will never ever return!

We stayed here for 1 night in the beginning of September and it is such a lovely old building, endless amounts of character and staff always willing to help. Our room had all the basics - tv, kettle, tea and coffee. It was cosy and comfortable, but also amusing trying to work out which corridor to go down after a... More

We stayed in The Bell in August for two nights, we have stayed there many times over the years and it's the second time this year. I have recommended it to friends who have stayed there. Friday is steak menu day with six different steaks on offer so we took a seat in the restaurant at 06:15pm. I ordered a... More

We spent two nights at the Bell with our dog (no extra charge) as a base for visiting Tewkesbury, Gloucester & the Cotswolds. The pub has a great atmosphere & the building has a lot of character. The location is ideal - right opposite the Abbey - and there is plenty of parking. Our rooms were comfortable & clean, albeit... More

Our first lunch at The Bell--there were four of us--didn't go so well, and it turned out that a last-minute kitchen glitch (something that can happen to anyone) was to blame. It was a family reunion and making a fuss at the time would have spoiled the mood, so I waited until we got home and then resorted to good... More

When we booked in there was no one on the reception. When we found someone. The booking in was a couldn’t care less attitude. The Room was not in the main hotel: It was an add-on to the hotel though it was linked by a courtyard shape. You had access from the car park via a well-worn corridor. The shower... More

We booked this hotel a few months ago on a daily mail special deal. We have stayed in a few Old English Inns, and as we were visiting my Dad in Winchcombe, this seemed the best venue. We were very pleased we did. We didn't arrive until 8pm Friday evening, and we too had to pop in the bar to... More

When I read the reviews on here, I must admit I booked for 4 nights with some trepidation, particularly as our stay was a birthday treat for my octogenarian Grandma. However, my Grandma and I had a really pleasant stay. Staff were friendly and courteous and checking in was not a problem. We were based in the accommodation block, just... More

Great location in the centre of Tewkesbury and on the M5. Breakfast options are good and good quality and fast service however thats where the positives stop. The rooms are really run down and basic and need a good sprucing up. The bathrooms are sub standard with poor water quality. A good nights sleep is hard to get with the... More
