Booked in for 1 night, 12.12.14. Room 36. Absolutely appalling. Room was dirty, paint peeled and cracked. Bed side lamps hanging off walls, stains on lampshades. No bed protection cover on mattress and once lifted up found a pair of mens dirty used pjammas under pillow!..to top of that, returned to room to find £200 STOLEN. management useless, and very... Just returned from a 3 night break staying at the Bell. I was initially disappointed to find we were in the annexe block but actually found it more convenient and our room was spotlessly clean, warm and quiet. We enjoyed our evening meals in the Hotel restaurant and the breakfast choice and quality is excellent. All the staff are very... More

We stopped for lunch on the off chance, as found you can take dogs in the bar & it had a car park. Lovely olde worlde decor, very pleasant staff and a really super menu. The pulled pork sandwich was excellent - more like a full meal! The scampi was cooked perfectly & presentation of both meals was excellent. Price... More

Arrived lunch time on a Sunday for a two night stay food good staff very friendly beer excellent will recommend to friends who might want to stay in Tewkesbury. Only criticisms would be the beds in a twin room were very narrow and not much room round the edges so much so that there were no bedside tables? Apart from... More

I book Old English Inns because I like staying in historic character buildings. Upon my arrival I was not disappointed, however when I was directed towards my room ( out of the old building to a short walk through the car park to the nearby annex) I was somewhat disappointed. I may as well booked a Travelodge. Putting that aside,... More

I went with friends for an evening meal. Pretty poor experience compared with the other wonderful eating places available in Tewkesbury! Starters I ordered Stilton and apple salad, the salad was fine but overwhelmed by large pieces of very strong, greasy Stilton. I left most of the cheese. Main courses were mainly steaks, I ordered lamb chops and asked to... More

We stayed at Tewkesbury last week on the Caravan Club site. We decided to try The Bell. We had two meals there. The atmosphere was comfortable, service good, beer good, prices reasonable. They had their new autumn menu. The menu was over described as the quality was moderate. We will not return again for a meal.

A hotel with a warm welcome and plenty of character. Manageress most obliging as were bar and restaurant staff. Our room clean and compact with comfortable bed. Breakfast with good selection. Only concern was evening meal. We chose off 9.99 menu for 2. Maybe a mistake. Food over microwaved. Should have complained but for that price what can u expect.... More

You can certainly understand why it is said these premises go back to 1696. It's frontage is more than quaint and being set alongside The Abbey adds to the overall picturesque scenery of the area. The rear of the property is a bit of a let down however. Two barns overlooking the car park have been converted into a number... More

Dear Guest, Thank you for your review of The Bell, following your recent visit. I am pleased to read that you enjoyed your visit, both to The Bell and to Tewkesbury.
