I was only staying for one night for business, the room was very small with no en suite toilet. Bar downstairs was quite rowdy throughout tea time. No parking until 630 meant I couldn't relax until I'd moved my car 3 times. Overall for the price its as expected. Very friendly staff

Very difficult to sum up - but definitely NOT the "avoid at all costs" rating. This is a genuine old building, reputably Wat Tyler's house. The angles of some floors and walls have to be experienced. Downstairs: Definitely a "locals" pub but with a very friendly welcome and a clearly competent landlady. It gains lots of stars here. Upstairs: Very... More
