Sadly this was not worth £68 per night. Although we were shown to our room we were given no information, e.g. breakfast or check-out times. The room looked fine at first but on closer inspection we found many faults. The bathroom was filthy - a terrible smell came from the plumbing at first and there was even a scum line... More

It's been difficult to review this venue because on the one hand the accommodation is perhaps below average but the pub itself is fantastic. We booked two rooms for four of us when taking my Dad to Silverstone for a driving experience (very convenient for Silverstone btw). For ease of access we booked rooms 5&6 outside with easy access. Of... More

Stayed here on Friday and Saturday night to attend a family wedding. We were fortunate to have the add on bungalow style at the back of the premises. It was a lovely hotel, excellent food, breakfast divine. Only 2 criticisms, the double bed mattress has had it, needs replacing and although we were a party of 3 only 2 cups... More

My husband and I stayed in room 10 on a Saturday night. We were a little dubious about our stay after reading previous reviews but decided we would give it a try and make our own opinion. This is a B&B above a busy pub on a High Street so we expected noise, and lots of people. The staff members... More

Nice centrally located hotel just north of Milton Keynes. Friendly staff, nice atmosphere, characterful feel of this building, with low beamed ceilings. Room was nice size twin (room 1) with good facilities - en-suite, tea/coffee/biscuits, FST TV. Breakfast served from 7am was very nice - full English. Only downside was parking, as the hotel did not have its own so... More

Thinking about this review I was constantly swinging between 3 and 4 stars, but the standard of the staff made me decide on an overall 4 star rating. I was wary of booking into a pub because my wife is recovering from a long term illness and likes to go to bed early, so we didn't want a room over... More

If this is not the worst stay I've ever had it must be close! Firstly, we telephoned ahead to say we would be arriving late and were told someone would be there to meet us. They were, and they were very drunk. The double room we booked turned out to be a twin, but we accepted this as it was... More

Where to begin. Arrived at 6pm to a nice looking busy pub. Booked in, paid my money and was then shown the room. It was right above the bar and I was then informed that they had a live band on that night (but not to worry they ONLY play until midnight and the 'singer is quite good'). The noise... More

I had been to the old George inn on several separate nights for drinks. I foolishly decided to take a party of four here. We all ordered teas / coffee and four breakfasts from the menu. I asked if it would be okay to have no mushrooms, fully expecting them to say that would be no problem. The waiter /... More

I called in for a refreshing pint but was captivated by the wonderful selection of malt whiskies. Some of them I had never seen before. Darren the landlord suggested I try a malt from Campbeltown. Thanks Darren it was wonderful. I will be going back to try another, then perhaps another. But next time I intend to dine there as... More
