Reviews Summary

Travelodge Basingstoke is often commended for its spotless rooms and friendly staff, with Sharon receiving special mention for her warm hospitality. The hotel's location is celebrated for its convenience and tranquility, ensuring a restful stay. However, the value perception is tarnished by outdated decor and lack of amenities, and while the beds are comfortable, some guests have noted maintenance and cleanliness issues. Overall, the hotel's atmosphere is welcoming, attributed to diligent service, though guests suggest that it could benefit from some modernization.

Our stay at the Basingstoke Travelodge in Hampshire was outstanding. The staff made us both feel welcome they was both very polite the hotel was clean and peaceful. We will be retuning again soon, We rate the 2 staff 100% for the front of house service.

The reception on arrival was welcoming and helpful. I had paid for WiFi but not noted down the code, which the receptionist helpfully gave me. The Harvester next door was a good place to eat, again very friendly. The room was clean and tidy. The basics we expect from Travelodge were also provided. I chose to collect my pre-ordered breakfast from reception in the morning rather than have it left outside my room. It was kept in the fridge so the milk and drink were nicely chilled too.

A warm and friendly welcome with an easy check-in. We entered a clean and tidy room, with a comfortable bed. It was really nice being upstairs so we could have the windows open slightly. It was a great price too for a Saturday night stay.

The room was good value for money, spacious and the bed was very comfortable. The shower was also very good with a strong water flow. The hotel is complemented by having a Harvester restaurant/pub by the entrance and there are also Pizza Express, Nando's and McDonalds within walking distance.

Definitely the hotel to book if planning a stay in Basingstoke. A very friendly, helpful, professional staff team: special mention to Danny, he was super helpful. The room I was in was clean, spacious and quiet; excellent housekeeping service. The absence of a restaurant was not an issue, there is a Harvester Restaurant next door, a Pizza / Italian restaurant across the road, and a multitude of other eateries locally. I would definitely recommend this hotel if you are considering a stay in the area.

Yes this is an older style Travelodge, but the room was clean, the bed was comfortable and I didn’t hear any traffic noise. The Receptionist was so helpful after we had struggled a bit with the online booking. Also I am tall and I find the older style of bath more comfortable for a soak than the square-edged baths in some of the newer Travelodges.

Great location and really friendly, welcoming staff. The room was large and the bed nice and comfy. Both reception staff fell on love with our dog and made her very welcome. Easy check in even though we arrived very late. Very quiet location.

It was great to be met by a cheerful and welcoming member of staff at check in rather than a self-check in computer screen, especially after a long journey. The room was very comfortable and plenty big enough for three adults. It is so nice to be able to travel with our adult child on route to uni without the added expense of having to book a second room, (unlike other hotels).
