'Exciting New Boutique Accommodation in Basingstoke'? I think there may of been a touch of poetic licence on the website description! There is nothing Boutique about this place, it is a B&B. I found it to be fairly small, and although the room appeared OK at first glance, the whole place had a rather unpleasant smell of what appeared to... More

Nice hotel with a helpful host. Great breakfast cooked to order and plenty of it. My room was clean and had all the things you need when working away. Good quiet location and lots of parking. only 5 mins into inde estate so east to get into work in busy traffic.

We stayed at the Basingstoke Lodge on a business trip for 3 nights and were thrilled. A great welcome, clean nicely decorated and quiet rooms, WIFI and a perfect hearty breakfast made for a wonderful stay. highly recommended!

The bed linen although smelling fresh was damp in both the twin and the double room we booked... It felt stuffy and sweaty throughout the night....the beds in the twin rooms are small single beds and quite uncomfortable... The central heating was switched off and we were unable to heat our room to a comfortable temperature but this was only... More

We spent two nights at the Basingstoke Lodge and found it to be ok but nothing special. Rooms are very tight with inadequate hanging space and drawers. Proprietor is friendly and helpful but unfortunately recommended a local Indian restaurant (The Spice) which we though decidedly below par. Breakfast was cooked to order but at 10 pounds a bit pricey.

I have not stayed in a B&B for many years, as a result I have become extremely accustomed to hotels and as the lower end of the hotel market has transformed in to glorified cerial boxes with a eastern european styled reception, I have have unfortunately gone with the flow, stuck with the trend and made the best of a...
