Having gone on a coach trip with the elderly, we were met with a welcome smile, but that was about it. No staff were available to do anything apart from the young reception desk manageress who filled in on every job going. Bless her smiles through gritted teeth. Forget this place for a coach tour. It is all self service,... more

The hotel as per other reviews is as expected. It serves a purpose and for an overnight stoppver is good value as long as you have a car for mobility. However, my warning stems from a credit card charge that arrived 2 weeks later allegedly for breakfasts that I had had while at the hotel. I hadn't. Trying to get... more

This is the kind of place which is perfect if you are just looking for a place to kip whilst you away on business. Comfy bed, very helpful staff, lots of parking and very easy to get to and then on into town. Who could ask for more when you only pay £39 a night?! more

Stayed here on 31 July for business purposes. I believe the hotel has changed hands many times. Some problems with seemingly short staffed (reception area was un-manned for periods of time). Overall, ok stay. Breakfast was fine and bar reasonably priced. The hallways leading to bedrooms the carpets were really grubby (same also in the rooms) and there was obviously... more

I remember this hotel being built in the early 1970's (as 'The Crest Motel') and wondered then 'who would stay here?'. It's been through a variety of ownerships since, steadily getting tattier and more decrepit... until now! The place has been 'done up' quite well. The rooms are bright, clean (and this is a Britannia hotel remember!) and comfortable. They... more
