Hosts are excellent, friendly, helpful and accommodating. A warm, welcoming refuge with excellent room and breakfast of home made/locally sourced food. Do yourself a favour and stay here rather than a soulless mass market budget hotel.

The Old Rectory of St James is really lovely. The decor is lovely, the food delicious and the hosts make you really welcome. The hosts are really generous and a lot of thought has gone into the little details. I can't wait to stay again.

The quality of or whole stay was extremely high topped off by the friendly professionalism of our hosts. The room we stayed in was beautifully decorated and very comfortable, comparable to any top rated hotel. Our breakfast was superb and we could not fault any aspect of our stay. Highly recommended.

I stayed one night on a business trip. I was greeted by the host on a cold winters evening and treated to an evening meal of home made soup followed by perfectly baked cod and new potatoes. The room was up to hotel standard- en suite, spotlessly clean, towels, tv -everything was fine. beautiful breakfast. Perfect eggs. I recommend without... More

I stayed for one night, and it was superb in every respect. Homely atmosphere, very good size room and en-suite (and duvet, no sheets!), delicious afternoon tea on arrival (it was embarrassing which cake to leave off the plate, so I had them all), lovely home cooked breakfast from someone who knows how to properly cook poached eggs. Delightful couple... More

I found this on the Net, we wanted somewhere handy for the Telford International Centre and give ourselves a bit of a treat at the same time. I go for old places and a rectory sounded ideal (good website). It was easy to get to on the edge of town and is very quiet, with virtually no traffic noise. We... More

A superb welcome from charming hosts, fantastic home-made cakes on arrival, lovely elegant rooms in a delightful setting. The perfect place to stay for visiting Ironbridge and surrounding countryside.

I have just returned from a hugely enjoyable two day stay at the Old Rectory. I can honestly say it is by far the best bed and breakfast I have ever stayed in. Adrian and Rosemary are wonderful, provide true hospitality. The house is stunning, beds comfy and the rooms are beautiful. There are loads of little touches that make... More

This is an extraordinary place to stay thanks to the attention to small details. I could happily have stayed for days and enjoyed the comfort of the rooms. The homemade macaroons in your room are fantastic and the bed one of the most comfortable i have sleep in. Just make sure you book for long enough to enjoy it all.
