I organised my best friends hen weekend and choose the Nightingale hotel as it looked a lovely place and was within everyones budgets. I found it online and dropped them an email, over the 4 weeks leading up to the weekend i had fantastic customer service via email. Trying to sort out the weekend for 12 ladies isn't always that... more

Staff are all great, friendly and happy to help. The bar / restaurant areas are really big, so there is plenty of space. The leisure club is excellent, loads of expensive kit great sauna and steam room and a big pool. The boys loved it. They also have squash courts, but I wasn't feeling that energetic. The hotels has lots... more

We used this hotel as a base for our tour of the Cotswolds and it was perfect for our four days stay. It was easy to find just off the A420 at South Marston. The Hotel is presently having a refurbishment and is a bit untidy but nevertheless we had a warm welcome and the staff were cheerful and helpful.... more

Allocated refurbished room very nice, leisure facilities great, nice dining room. Ok for individuals who book and request refurbished rooms. Same cant be said for coach partys! Other rooms poor standard and as a large party not allowed to use nice dining room for evening meals but allocated dark dingy area with tables that needed a good wipe down, cutlery... more

I stayed at the Nightingale in 2007 & was shocked at how tatty the hotel was & how unhelpful the staff were. Colleagues booked me in again recently as we were in the area for a business meeting. They said it had improved since 2007, as they had read this on Trip Advisor...how very wrong they were! After changing rooms... more

Stayed here on a weekend break recently and found the hotel good value and would especially suit families or those on a weekend break. The hotel is not pretentious and the staff are very friendly - just a simple comfortable stay which is just what we wanted. Didn't use the health club but it looked as if the facilities were... more

Booked at the last minute, as our usual business stop-overs were full, we had high expectations of the Nightingale from the charming photos on its website. However, from the moment of arrival we realised that the place was more holiday camp than hotel. Check in was simple and the staff were very happy and eager to help, but as all... more

We were very dissapointed in this hotel, as our room did not resemble anything that we had seen on the website. I now see from other reviews that the hotel is being refurbished, although there was no sign of any work going on whilst we were there. Our room had wallpaper peeling off from every wall, the TV did not... more

45 rooms were held back for a friend of ours who was having a party in nearby Shrivenham. I booked our double room on www.booking.com (reference number 54.740.624) on 25/02/08 for 1 night on 26/07/08 for £65. On Wednesday 23/07/08 the reservation was confirmed by phone and when one of our friends checked in on the afternoon of the party... more

I selected this hotel because it was close to my group's business meeting. While the rooms are far from fancy, they were certainly comfortable. The staff were very friendly and the hotel bar and breakfast were fine. I was only there a short time so I didn't have a chance to use their extensive athletic / pool facilities, but they... more
