Four of us tried out the Cricklade Hotel for the first time for Sunday lunch. The grounds were pleasant (once we actually found the entrance, which we drove straight past at first because it is "understated"!) and the hotel building was pleasing. Views from inside were also very good, looking out over rolling grass and trees, albeit admittedly a lot... more

Lets start with the positives. Set in very nice grounds just outside a pretty little village. Ample parking and very quiet, that is where the good points end. Reception were eating (lunch I presume) in the back office when we arrived, we rang the bell on the desk and the receptionist came out with her mouth full. She was quite... more

I had the pleasure of staying a week at this charming hotel during a recent business trip. It exceeded all my expectations. The service was second to none and the staff bent over backwards to ensure that my needs were met. I especially enjoyed the beautiful views from the lounge and restaurant areas. My room was a fairly good size,... more

The hotel was spotless and grounds well kept. Staff attentive without being overbearing. Evening meal and breakfast excellent. Huge room with a four poster. Bar drinks and wine list very overpriced. more

The Cricklade Hotel and Country Club really is a hidden gem. Set in fairly good location for travel into the Cotswolds, the hotel has beautiful views over the surrounding countryside and is itself a beautiful listed Cotswold stone structure. The strongest point of all in this hotel is the food. The restaurant is amongst the best I have ever eaten... more

We stayed as a party of eight for the weekend, mostly just eating, drinking and spending time with old friends. The hotel is excellent for this, and, no doubt, for more energetic souls, for whom there are numerous opportunities for exercise (e.g. golf, gym, snooker/pool, swimming etc.). The lounge and large conservatory have beautiful views and are luxuriously comfortable and... more

attended a freind's wedding, booked some months in advance, got an en-suite double b&b room rate of £120. The hotel is situated 1 mile outside the quaint village of Cricklade, set in many acres with a 9 hole course course surrounding the properties lavish grounds. The hotel on arrival is very lavish, the whole appearance of the hotel lends itself... more

The same four of us who visited Cricklade Hotel and Country Club last January, stayed for a weekend in 2008. We went on Friday 29th as one of our party has a once every 4 years birthday on 29th. We found the standard just as high as last year and probably more enjoyable as the UK smoking ban has made... more

I stayed in this hotel at the end of November as all the other hotels in the Swindon area were booked. As per an earlier review, the plumbing in room 19 is atrocious. One would have better success taking a shower under a slobbering St. Bernard than with the situation in this room. The plumbing issue however does not seem... more

After booking a golf break in July and being told, that there was no need to pre-book tee times during the week times. On arrival was told that the couse was close on arrival day, for sociaty club two days, so was sent to another couse by the hotel management, then played later during our the stay. Then given a... more
