What a treat to enjoy afternoon tea at this charming hotel. Visited on a Thursday afternoon with my parents who had received a gift voucher as a present and I paid the £13.50 charge. Tea was offered to us on the terrace (it was a beautiful sunny day but a little chilly!) although we decided to take it in the... More

Business stop over, very friendly pleasant staff, large room overlooking garden was very nice . Food and drink all good. A very viable alternative compared to some of the bland hotels nearby in Swindon. Good for meetings and conferences on a small scale . Lots of refurbishment and modernisation has been done and it shows.

Booked 2 nights. Our experience was a far cry from the web page description. We were put in a very small attic room with dated furniture and an old pokey bathroom. In their wisdom they had scheduled the landing directly outside the bedroom to be painted during second afternoon of our stay. The fumes in our room were so overwhelming... More

As a guest at a family wedding on Thursday 28th May, fantastic well trained staff, so helpful for my elderly inlaws, nothing was to much trouble. A nice lunch, then later the actual wedding meal, faultless! The rooms large and well equipped and clean. This hotel is very tasteful, so many country house venues over do the furniture and clutter... More

I must start by saying that we won a night at this country house hotel, so I only paid for the food. The setting for the hotel is beautiful, with wonderful mature trees in the garden and a pleasant sheltered courtyard to the side, We had a room in the main house up a gorgeous dramatic staircase. The room was... More

We visited this hotel today for a traditional afternoon tea. The service was exemplary, the cutlery and crockery clean and very quaint. Now for the food, what a treat! A sorbet to start which was amazing followed by finger sandwiches, 2 huge scones (one plain and one fruit) with thick jam and cream and 3 little cakes to finish off-fabulous and... More

Attended this hotel for a family wedding. Beautiful setting. Our room was excellent and of a very good standard although the dead orchid in the room was a little surprising ! I did feel the room was a little too expensive for the standard as the hotel is only 3 star. Breakfast (when it did arrive) was of a reasonably... More

We arrived slightly early and were the first to be seated - we had a glass of champagne followed by a tasty sorbet and then our choice of tea together with a selection of sandwiches, scones and cakes. Seemed a bit strange that we had 3 of each sandwich rather than 2 or 4 but it was plenty for us.... More

I visited Chiseldon House for afternoon tea this week. The restaurant was very busy with guests who all seemed to be having a great afternoon , but despite being busy – the service was excellent. The food was nicely presented on unusual cake stands and was obviously all freshly made. A nice touch was the sorbet to start with –... More

We had a disappointing experience at the beginning of March with afternoon tea for five as part of a birthday celebration. We were allocated a large table in an almost empty dining room. It was cold, no atmosphere, no background music. Everything was served promptly and politely by our waitress, but the tea itself was very disappointing compared with other... More
