We visited this hotel today for a traditional afternoon tea. The service was exemplary, the cutlery and crockery clean and very quaint. Now for the food, what a treat! A sorbet to start which was amazing followed by finger sandwiches, 2 huge scones (one plain and one fruit) with thick jam and cream and 3 little cakes to finish off-fabulous and... More

Attended this hotel for a family wedding. Beautiful setting. Our room was excellent and of a very good standard although the dead orchid in the room was a little surprising ! I did feel the room was a little too expensive for the standard as the hotel is only 3 star. Breakfast (when it did arrive) was of a reasonably... More

We arrived slightly early and were the first to be seated - we had a glass of champagne followed by a tasty sorbet and then our choice of tea together with a selection of sandwiches, scones and cakes. Seemed a bit strange that we had 3 of each sandwich rather than 2 or 4 but it was plenty for us.... More

I visited Chiseldon House for afternoon tea this week. The restaurant was very busy with guests who all seemed to be having a great afternoon , but despite being busy – the service was excellent. The food was nicely presented on unusual cake stands and was obviously all freshly made. A nice touch was the sorbet to start with –... More

We had a disappointing experience at the beginning of March with afternoon tea for five as part of a birthday celebration. We were allocated a large table in an almost empty dining room. It was cold, no atmosphere, no background music. Everything was served promptly and politely by our waitress, but the tea itself was very disappointing compared with other... More

You have one shot at Mother's Day lunch each year. This year, we were way off target. Firstly, the Waldorf Salad. For anyone who's seen Fawlty Towers, this should contain walnuts, grapes etc. No nuts, but two grapes each...that should've told us something. Almost an hour later, the main course: Wiltshire Roast Beef. Maybe there just aren't many cows in... More

Had a afternoon tea here for my wife’s birthday. We were very happy with the service and the food was very good. There were more cakes than we could manage and they provided a box for us to take our leftover in. I would recommend this for a posh afternoon tea.

My husband booked afternoon tea for my birthday. When we arrived we were greeted warmly and shown to our table in the room overlooking the garden. Our waiter was very efficient and looked after us very well. The table was nicely laid and our sorbet was very refreshing. My husband and I are complete coffee snobs - being very fussy... More

Upon arriving the staff on reception were polite and friendly. The waitress who served us during our time was just wonderful. She was attentive but not overbearing. The food was lovely and so much of it we couldn't finish it all. The staff were generous to pack it up for us to take home. The unlimited tea and coffee was... More

The staff were very helpful and polite. The dining room was very pleasant and tables had lovely white tablecloths. The hot chocolate was delicious but the food, (apart from the sorbet), although nicely presented, was very disappointing compared with afternoon teas I have enjoyed at other establishments. Food consisted of finger sandwiches containing miniscule pieces of gristly ham with sun... More

Thank you for taking the time to write a review, all feedback is very useful to us. I am glad you found our staff helpful and polite. I am sorry you found the afternoon tea food disappointing, I will look into the issues raised to address them. We aim to serve high quality food and am sad on this occasion... More
