Stayed at this hotel whilst on a business trip. The first room i was allocated stank of old smoke although i was assured it was a non-smoking room. I was moved without fuss ( although i had to stand at reception for 10 minutes before anyone noticed me). The room was adequate - i was grateful for the air conditioning!... more

We stay in Holiday Inn's quite regularly and usually find them better than average but this one is something else! Grim doesn't quite cover it. The room was so small that the double bed was squashed up against the wall only leaving room for one bedside table. The carpet was stained with goodness knows what, the furniture was chipped and... more

We had booked a total of 4 rooms for the family (8 adults and 5 children) to celebrate my parents Ruby wedding anniversary. . We were staying as part of the dinner bed and breakfast deal and it was great value for money. The hotel is really quite lovely with a small bar area with Internet access and television and... more

This worked out as a great place to stay a night with our two children (aged 2 and 4), as we arrived late afternoon and were able to take them down to the pool to work off a long car journey before dinner in the bar. Children ate free and were given a portion I would have been happy with.... more

I have stayed at this hotel on numerous occasions for business over the past 5 years. Every time I have stayed here it has not been without some sort of incident.. Room service food dropped on the floor and not cleaned up fully leaving a smell in the room all night, then over an hours wait for the food to... more

As a regular at Holiday Inn's around the country I was very dissapointed with the Swindon hotel. From the outside this hotel looks like the old posthouse hotel. I arrived quite late at about 11.00pm and the first problem was getting in. The front doors were locked and despite repeated rings of the bell no answer. Fortunatley whilst waiting a... more

Stayed here on business. Easy to access by car. My room hade everything I needed and it all worked. Relatively recent partial refurbishment and pleasant clean looking decor. No lift, if this might be an issue for you. Small health centre with pool and gym equipment. I had a pleasant early morning swim and was on my own in the... more

I have stayed at this hotel on numerous occasions since August 2000. The last time I stayed at this hotel prior to this visit was March 07. The hotel has recently had re-refurbishment including installation of air conditioning but it is still an old hotel and dated. The rooms would benefit from double glazing as the windows are single glazed... more

Found the hotel easily and looked forward to booking into our superior room. Check in was straight forward and handled efficiently by the young man on duty. We arrived at the room which was perfectly pleasant and laughed at the one chocolate which had been placed on one of the 3 (?????) pillows and noticed a single mars bar had... more

The Holiday Inn at Swindon is pretty tired. The hotel is very dated, and can't have been modernised, other than the odd cosmetics for some time. i.e bed linens with throws to look up to date but matresses with springs that dig in you ! The hotel is an old Forte PostHouse, and the design is typical with very long... more
