Really good meal and drinks, enjoyed sitting in the beer garden, it was nice to see it not being overrun with kids and prams. Food came out quickly and it was hot and well presented. Will return again for an evening meal. Good work! There wasn't anything wrong with the toilets when we came as per the review below, in... More

We have been to the Goddard Arms twice before and enjoyed the experience however this time we went the hotel started with a party around 8 pm which was loud enough for us to hear the thump thumping of the music through out the night. I went down to complain at 10,30 pm and was told that the party music... More

I went there to meet with my friends who were staying for a few days with their young family. We had dinner with them the night they arrived, only to be told the children would not be able to stay after 7pm. Since the order for food had been taken and they took two children s menu orders we thought... More

Ok so it was my birthday this week, decided on an evening meal at the Goddard's, can't say I've really paid it much attention before despite living in Old Town for many years. My better half had a risotto and I had a a beef pie. Can't fault it, staff were very attentive, Ale's were obviously well looked after and... More

Had lunch with a friend here today. Very relaxed, friendly staff and very good food. Haven't been in for a long time after a bad experience a couple of years ago. It's a different place now if a little expensive. But very tasty! They serve Lavazza coffee which is one of my favourites too. There should be an area that... More

having been completely re-vamped and modernised I was stunned by the new look. unlike shenanigans2014 I was impressed by the new menu. yes some things are similar but lots of new items. having spoken to most of the staff on duty they had been given little training on new menu's and systems ( a corporate problem maybe????? ) . no... Ate breakfast here last Friday, only one fry up dish offered nothing smaller on the menu would have been notice to have the option of 1 egg, bacon etc rather than 2 of each. Fried egg was congealed, beans looked like mush and sausages had obviously been under a hot plate for a while. The bacon was all clumped together... More

Had lunch today after the Goddards' reopened! Loved it! Real friendly people and really nice food. It's just a great place to eat and drink. We've been eating there for about a year when on lunch form work and it's always been good, we're just glad to see the owner has finally spent some money on the dated interior. Now... More

Following the £300,000 refurbishment of the restaurant, my colleagues and I decided to go for lunch to see the new place. Previously the Goddards was known for its cheap and cheerful menu, and reasonably quick service. 45 minutes after ordering, the most disorganised restaurant in Swindon failed to bring any food, and the staff didn't even seem to notice. The... More
