Having recently stayed in the Goddard Arms, I thought I should leave a few thoughts. Plus points - Bed Was comfy, housekeeping staff friendly and efficient, Plenty of hot water and nice fluffy towels, decor is pleasant (though a bit dark) All in all my stay was a good one though I do have a few minor gripes which if... Booked a weekend in Wiltshire at short notice and this was the only hotel available at a reasonable price. The hotel has a pay and display car park to the rear, residents do not have to pay make sure you obtain a permit when you check in. We were accompanied to our room by a member of staff who explained... More

Ate from the main menu three times, everything was very high standard. No complaints on the food but drinks were quite pricey. The restaurant has a vibrant atmosphere and always seemed quite busy. Our room was a bit noisy from the road but all in all a great trip to old town.

Excellent food and drink, hotel rooms are a bit dated but In general a well looked after pub. Worth booking for an evening meal as it gets very busy. Place was very clean, staff friendly, good selection of beers.

We were staying in Swindon just one night to visit family. This was the only hotel available at a reasonable price, so booked it with some misgivings due to reviews, but it was only for one night. Check-in at the bar was easy - make sure you get a parking permit - the hotel car park doubles as a council... More

Was a very pleasant decor. Customer service probably wasn't the best as when my food was brought to us I had the wrong thing on my plate, they stated that I definitely didn't order the specific food item when I clearly had and in my opinion rather than questioning it they could have just gone and changed it as it... Stayed there last night 1st July. The staff were very attentive and friendly. We had the combo for two for lunch. It consisted of Scampi, Chicken, Potato wedges, Nachos, Garlic bread, Onion rings accompanied with 3 great dips, all with great flavours. The plate must have been 20 inches across and was full. Was supposed to be for two but... More

Didn't stay, only visited to eat, but: Outside looks beautiful, nice interior (clean and well designed). Ordered roast beef and a burger. Wasn't offered cheese or any other topping, I had to ask. Had run out of Roast Beef, so chose a BBQ chicken dish instead. Asked for a receipt from the barman, only to find that if been charged... More

We stayed in Swindon for one night at the Marriott. We didn't fancy eating there so walked into the old town (only about a 10 min walk). In town we got talking to a local man who recommended The Goddard Arms as newly refurbished and somewhere nice to eat. We thought we would give it a try and am very... More

Visited Swindon recently and spent some time at the Goddard Arms. The food was very good and the prices reasonable however the thing that most impressed me was the friendly staff and the great service. It has been recently renovated and the bar & dining areas are well decorated, clean and well laid out. Recommend the 'Goddards' for a good... More
