Stopped in today for lunch, the food was spot on, staff were great and our family had a great afternoon out. There is parking behind the hotel but not loads, so suggest getting there early. We will be back.

This pub is walking distance from our house. Does great food, good beers & wines & most importantly, welcomes our children. There's something for everyone on the menu & we have never been disappointed with our meals. They even do a great breakfast! Well worth a visit, it's a firm favourite with our family!

A very nice old style typical English Hotel, but far and foremost an English pub. Lots of people having fun at Friday evening. The room was limited. Squeeking floors, smelling carpets, ever flushing toilets, ill fitted bathroom etc. Great breakfast, very friendly services. If you don't mind the room, its a very nice place.

I think this is really a pub which is probably not too bad - friendly staff, good vibe and judging by breakfast not bad in the kitchen. The problem starts as you go up the dingy stairs, through the fire door and into the smelliest dark corridor with a filthy carpet and flaking paintwork. Happily the room was clean and... More

Was a bit unhappy with the room, door latch hanging off, dirty carpets, not what you expect from the look of the hotel on the outside. Shame because it is nice down in the bar area. Would not stay again .

We stayed for 1 night and chose the Goodard Arms for it's location in Old Town. Positives were excellent huge breakfast for £5.95, very helpful and friendly duty manager, linen clean and room had tea/coffee facilities, hairdryer, TV etc. Negatives - this is an old building that has seen better days and the décor in the hotel section needs refurbishment.... We stayed in a double room at the frog of the hotel. It was unclean, the furnishings were tatty and worn out and the service was terrible. For the price - I would've expected a lot more. The staff were also indiscreet and rude. Dreadful experience!

At the last minute my husband couldn't join me so I telephoned to check if there was a single room available yes,so I cancelled the double costing £50 and booked the single at !£45,this really annoys me whilst I know it probably takes the same length of time to clean the room there are still less sheets and towels to... Just stopped for tea.. burger and chips, well presented, tasty meal, great value..would go back for sure. You have to pay for parking, £2.00 for 3 hours but you get this money back. Menu has plenty on it for all tastes.
