On arrival there was no one at reception, when the receptionist did arrive she looked bored as though we weren't worth the bother. We had requested a smoking room, its only my partner that smokes, however this room was disgusting. The smell of smoke was rediculous, even my partner complianed about it and he smokes 40 a day! The room... more

Stayed here for two nights in March 07. Room was OK if a bit small. Ate dinner at the resteraunt and the food was just about the right side of edible. Biggest laugh was the 'chef's special' I chose for dessert. The nearest the cheescake I got had been to a chef was when he took it out of the... more

I visited this hotel with my partner for one night on 5th January 2007 and booked on a dinner bed and breakfast deal. Upon arrival, the reception was expecting me, and had my key and room ready. They were very courteous and when we got to the room we found it to be of a good standard, with a comfortable... more

I stayed at this twice during the past month and on both ocassions I found the hotel to be wanting in terms of cleanliness. On my first visit the quilt cover was badly stained and the toilet seat heavily soiled (I wont' go into specifics!!). On my next visit I found that the bedlinen had not been changed and there... more

Dirty crockery, dirty glasses, unhelpful staff, poorly maintained rooms, peeling paper, dirt on floors - ever after they had been serviced, poor Wi-Fi, staff who only have a basic understanding of English...need I say more? Oh, and a noisy railway, waste disposal during early hours and many other things to spoil a good nights sleep. Stay away, for your own... more

Nasty little sweat box of a hotel, no A/C windows you could hardly open more than two inches. When the windows are open you are kept awake by trains through out the night. Keep clear of this hotel. more

I travel a lot and I have never stayed in such an overpriced, dirty hotel with such poor service. There were cobwebs in the bedroom with stains on the sheets. The service in the restaurant was non existent even though we had booked our meals in advance and when, no IF the food turned up it was either cold or... more

Myself and 11 other family members met on a sunny weekend to celebrate a 40th wedding anniversary and a birthday. On the Sunday we wanted to round off the weekend with a meal together. Some of us wanted light lunches and so the Madison seemed an ideal alternative to Sunday roasts on offer in pubs. We telephoned shortly before 1pm... more
