My family visited this great pub lady weekend , and what a great evening we had It's such a 'atmospheric' pub with all the old features Lots of real ales & special deals on the beer of the month The food was excellent, good choices, and great value Definitely recommend this great village pub.

I was very please with my single room, it seemed spotless and newly decorated. New looking double glazed windows..although the handles came off when closing..:0. A modern en-suite shower room, although small, had to leave door open but ok for a single person. I put plug in sink though and couldn't get it out again so had a sink full... More

Recently booked this hotel through late.rooms.com. Complete farce. Booked 3 rooms and hotel only had 2 (claiming the 3rd room booking hadn't been passed through). At the time the hotel were helpful in helping us to secure another hotel (however at vast additional cost as the area was completely booked up). However since laterooms have started to take up the... I was very pleasantly surprised with my 'single' room at the Saracen's Head. It had a double bed, good sized en-suite with bath and was very tastefully decorated. At less than I have often paid for rooms in 'basic' chains of hotels, this room had character, was light and homely. The breakfst was good and the staff friendly. I felt... More

this is an old pub with a lot of character. the rooms were clean and smart and tasteful. We had requested a quiet room which it was after the pub garden emptied. it was a little smoky as the smoke came into the room from below, but again this went once the garden emptied. the breakfast was amazing and freshly... A one night stay while touring England with my brother visiting from Australia. We had pre-booked a single room each en-suite and upon arrival our booking could not be found. When it was eventually found we couldn't be shown to our rooms because this would have left the bar empty of staff, so we had to search, I was told... More

My idea of a hotel is obviously something different to an Inn with some back stairs to rooms. No reception, no signage, no welcome were my first impressions. The room was very disappointing - small with one bedside table, a cupboard in which a shower, sink and toilet had been fitted and a very tiny triangular cupboard for belongings. It... More

We were booked in for two nights but only stayed one. Our room was on the top floor, was very small, and everything was either broken or on the brink of breaking. The en suite was so small, it was virtually unusable: we had to climb up into the shower past the sink. Maybe the rooms on the middle floor... More

I recently ate in the restaurant to celebrate with some friends. I ordered the lamb burger and struggled to finish. The chips were proper pub chips, lovely and chunky with a delicious taste to them. The burger itself was delightful. The whole atmosphere was welcoming and despite our large party the food did not take long to come out. We... More

So, the hotel/pub was very nice indeed. £30 through Late Rooms (£50 with Booking.com and others). Friendly reception and very nice comfortable room with large bathroom and shower. It would have been nice to have a table to work on but there is always something, isn't there? The bathroom could have done with a loo brush though. The WiFi reception... More
