So, the hotel/pub was very nice indeed. £30 through Late Rooms (£50 with Booking.com and others). Friendly reception and very nice comfortable room with large bathroom and shower. It would have been nice to have a table to work on but there is always something, isn't there? The bathroom could have done with a loo brush though. The WiFi reception... More

Just had a fabulous ploughmans lunch at this place. Very fresh food and of high quality. Although it was lunchtime midweek, the restaurant was full which says it all. Service was efficient and friendly. Would definitely go here again.

We had a family meal at the Saracens Head, as we had relatives staying there having travelled down for a funeral. The lounge area was warm and inviting, with a crackling fire - just what was needed on a cold November evening. The menu is pretty standard pub fayre, and reasonably priced. Service is friendly, and the food when it... More

The only thing good about our stay at this hotel was the breakfast. I couldn't believe the state of the room we had been given. There were holes in the wall and stains on the walls, ceiling and curtains. The bathroom was so small that you have to tuck yourself under the sink to sit on the toilet and the... More

We have now stayed at the Saracen's Head twice with our children; once a family group of 7 people taking four rooms, and once a family group of 5 people taking 2 rooms. Both times we have really enjoyed our visit. Last time we had rooms 2 and 3 which are both absolutely lovely, and have obviously been very recently... More

I stayed for one night, the room could do with modernisation, but that being said it was impeccably clean. The TV signal was poor but that may have been weather influenced. Dinner was good value for money, food came in good time and was good quality and presentation. Breakfast was equally well cooked and tasty. Beers were good(well they should... More

Stayed for one night last weekend, and thorougly enjoyed it. Very nice clean and spotless room, extremely good value for money. Very impressed by the food both at lunch and supper - it was evident the ingredients were all fresh, and I would have been very surprised if anything had been prepared in the microwave, also their menu prices are... I went to the Saracens Head in Highworth for a meal with my wife and we both thoroughly enjoyed all our courses. I had the soup of the day (tomato) which was home made and very tasty. It was served with two quarter baguettes. My wife had the quice with relish which was also delicious. For our mains we both... More

I think they have changed management recently. My wife and I went there for an anniversary meal yesterday and were amazed at the quality and presentation of what we received. 10/10 for the Pate starter and Steak Main. The chips were also exceptional. Crispy on the outside and soft and fluffy inside. Well worth a visit for the food.
