We stayed here for one night, at a cost of £40 room only. The hotel and room were both spotlessly clean, service was efficient and friendly, and the car park adequate. The hotel is situated a few minutes walk from the station and about 10 minutes from the centre of the City. On the plus side, the Italian restaurant on... more

This is great little hotel for a short stay in Derby. Very near the Train station and walking distance of the Westfield shopping centre. Continental breakfast was included in our deal. The rooms very clean and had flat screen TV. They also had a shower/bath. The room was comfortably warm. This is the second time we have stayed here. It... more

Great location, rooms immaculately clean with an amazing 32 inch flat screen tv with full free view. Staff were helpful, friendly and had great knowledge of local area. The buffet style full english/continental breakfast was excellent with a wide range of choices. Will definately be staying here again. more

This hotel is perfect if you look for a quiet place, without any bother, clean, walking distance from train station. Nothing luxurious, simple decoration but pleasant enough to have a very good stay and a great night. Hotel reception very nice and efficient. Left our luggage with no problem the day we checked out as we wanted to visit Derby... more

I stay at The European Inn quite regularly through work and have an excellent stay each time. The hotel is central and is right next door to the train station. The rooms are spacious and have all you need for a four night stay.. Tea and coffee making facilities, trouser press and satellite television. The breakfast is superb. Buffet style... more

The European is, as mentionned before, in a good location, a stone's throw from the station and well placed on the edge of the city centre. The rooms are fine, nothing out of the ordinary. The bed was comfortable, also nice to see a trouser press in a budget style hotel. The hotel is totally non-smoking, not good for a... more

2 things this hotel is very good for 1) location, opposite the train station and only 5 mins walk from the town centre. Unlike the travel inns/lodges etc which are all a good 15 mins bus ride away. 2) very cheap. The room itself was clean and spacious but a little dated. Make sure you bring your own shower gel... more

We stayed over in Derby for a birthday do meeting friends (who weren't staying at this hotel). First impressions of the hotel are very good but the welcome from the receptionist wasn't so wonderful! She failed to smile, charged us the wrong amount for the room, which wasn't even changed with a 'sorry' and gave out a distinct 'wish I... more

I stayed in the European essentially because I suddenly found myself ending up in Derby one Saturday night; the first hotel I thought of was full, as was the first one they recommended. The European was therefore not a hotel I chose, but I could not have been more pleasantly surprised. The general layout is in essence a pretty straightforward... more
