First impressions not great, groups of teenagers sat outside, not causing trouble but not a good start. They were outside each day of our 2 day visit. Staff lovely, very friendly. Excellent value - rooms modern and spotless although air con was a bit noisy. Inclusive breakfast was great value, loved the waffle maker! Overall a positive experience.

Stayed for 2 nights. The room was clean and comfy with everything you would expect. The hotel is right in the city centre so good location. The room we had was on the 4th floor and we found it very quiet. Breakfast buffet was good. Would stay here again

Hotel and staff really nice 10/10. Outside the front at night not so good 1/10. There is a lot of empty shops and loads of alcoholics and drug users out the front that you have to walk past. If you smoke and you want a smoke you have to stand with them as it's the only place to smoke.

Modern, clean and next to bus station, 10 minutes to restaurants etc Approach off putting as youths congregating near entrance - not the fault of hotel, but its location. Still this is rather intimidating , especially at night. Excellent shower and breakfast Room 308 appears to be under reception so late night noise above you (sounded like a herd of... More

Stayed for one night in June and just wanted a stop gap place to stay. Unfortunaltey the room which I was given was right over the bus station which the hotel is next too. This means buses run through to midnight and start at 6am which is a constant noise. I imagine if you had a room the otherside of... More

We were meeting friends in Derby and chose this hotel and I would recommend it. Breakfast was really nice, room was fine and most of the staff were lovely. Had a little issue whereby I had told reception a number of weeks ago that we were getting in very early from a flight with a 7 month old baby so... More

I stay in Derby for business every week and staying in the same hotel can get tedious. So I often try different ones. Hampton by Hilton always seems to be my preference though. A good location close to the shopping centre. It's clean and quiet with a free gym too. Breakfast is average. Wi-if is only available in the reception... More

It ticks most of the boxes for a business hotel. New(-ish) hotel. Good staff. Good location (apart from the off-road walkway to the entrance, which attracts some ne'er-do-wells.) I will stay there again (already booked!) ANNOYANCE : No WiFi in the rooms. Only an ethernet cable - useless for iPad and tablet users. AVOID : Floor 2 Riverside view -... More

My husband and I returned to Derby after a long absence.. to celebrate his 71st birthday with family. We chose to spend our 6 nights at the Hampton for 3 reasons..1. The " Value for Money". 2. The high ratings the hotel was given. And 3. the location to the city centre..(directly across from the INTU shopping mall...formerly Westfield) Which... More

Good central location near to bus and rail stations. Shop s, bars, restaurants, sights etc are all a short walk away across the road. No immediate parking - you need to park in the Riverside car park across the road associated with the shopping centre. Hotel process the payment of your parking ticket at reception which u pay at a... More
