The grounds of the hotel are stunning, and the leisure area is spot on - go there after 9pm and you are likely to have the whole spa area to yourself. It was our anniversary, and we were surprised with a free glass of champagne when we ate in the outstanding restaurant and a card in our room. The staff... more

First impression upon entering the grounds was that this place was beautiful, however your opinion soon changes once you're escorted to your "character room set in outstanding beauty". The first room was small and the bathroom was disgusting, it had as much character as a travel inn. The second room (after complaining) turned out to be a smoker's room (do... more

I stay here on business 10+ nights per month. Rooms are clean and have a very nice bed and a decent bathroom. TV is outdated and movie system needs an upgrade. Great gym with pool and hot tub included in price (just make sure you clean up after a workout because the locals never wipe the sweat off the equipment... more

This hotel is very pleasant, the staff were extremely attentive and unusually numerous. Like many hotels made from old buildings the majority of the rooms are in fact in a much newer construction adjoining and very much the usual fare, nothing special but nothing to complain about either. What makes this worth visiting is the golf course, which is excellent,... more

As soon as you turn off the road onto the drive you know this is going to be a special experience. Like one of its previous owners, Dawin, this hotel has evolved.Great golf course. Large bedrooms, good food and friendly staff make this an ideal place to stay and enjoy the history of the surrounding area. more

We stayed here in March to go to a family golden wedding anniversary. We had three rooms: one for my wife & myself, one for our two sons (aged 9 & 11) and one for my parents (in their 70s). We paid about GBP 95 per room per night, including breakfast. The location of the hotel is very nice -... more

We booked a weekend dining package at this hotel with dinner and breakfast included in the rate at £186 per night for a couple. Although there was some minor confusion with our reservation the reception staff resolved all issues to our satisfaction. There was a wedding party at the hotel on the Saturday night and we were found a quiet... more

Spent one night in the Breadsall Priory Marriot earlier this month as part of an away day from work. The approach to the hotel through the outer grounds is spectacular. The sign over the main reception door reads "The Oldest Marriot Hotel in the World", so i was expecting a period building with a modern interior - I wasn't expecting... more

This hotel is very interestingly historical. The gardens/fountain/scenery is really quite pleasant. The room was comfortable and well equipped. The facility is a bit spread out, but we were directed to the right door. The receptionist, a young lady originally from Eastern Germany, was particularly helpful and pleasant. We did catch the tail end of the breakfast buffet, and it was... more

Overall stay was a happy one but we did have a few hiccups along the way! THE REALLY GOOD POINTS The hotel is set in lovely grounds and looks stunning on arrival. We expected quite a busy break due to it being valentines day but overall it wasnt too bad. The room was very big and had 2 double beds... more
