On business in Derby stayed here for one night, check in was friendly and efficient, room was lovely nice big space with a nice bed on a gallery area. Bathroom nice and the breakfast great. I decided to eat out only because the very nice dining room was empty, but the menu looked good.

Stayed at hotel for one night , got a good deal. Room small junior queen and lighting very dull. No milk for for drinks in room. Car parked at friargate £2.50 a day , left there overnight as hotel has no parking. Great location for shopping and evening out. Bars and nice restaurants just around the corner. Had cocktail in... I have had cocktails here in the bar at friends parties, I've also had coffee here and stayed in one of the rooms. The dining room is incredible with wood pannelling on the walls and an amazing feel to the room. I can't say the afternoon tea was all that but the rest of the hotel and service is scond to... More

Having held our wedding here four years ago (and despite some minor complaints we and our guests had a fabulous stay and experience) my spouse and I decided to have afternoon tea on Valentine's Day. Unfortunately, we left disappointed. Having enjoyed afternoon tea at various locations in the UK, in comparison this was not up to standard and certainly not... More

Had an excellent stay at this lovely hotel. I really loved the architecture and particularly enjoyed the excellent breakfast in the wood panelled dining room. A real occasion with proper table linen!! The rooms had everything we needed , although perhaps a little darkly decorated for my taste. The boy on the reception was very helpful.

I was pleased to see Derby had a boutique hotel and having stayed at a number of other hotels in the city was looking forward to experiencing it. The first hint that things weren't going to plan was the very doomy and unfriendly reception area. I think they were trying to be true to the history of the building but... More

Just returned from a 1 night break from the Catherdral quarter hotel. The hotel is in a fab position being just outside the centre shopping area but nice and quiet too. Parking was not a problem as the young man on reception let us park directly down the side as their was maintenance in their own small car park.(Parksafe is... More

We were guests at a Birthday Party being held at the hotel and had a fantastic time. We booked a family room and a small double and everything was to our satisfaction apart from one small thing that didn't spoil our stay but needs to be pointed out...in our family room mine and my husband's bed was two beds pushed... From the moment I emailed this hotel they couldn't do enough for me - we had 32 people turn up various ages and they all loved it. The sandwiches where amazing and the various cakes where lovely. The price of the drinks where high but this was expected. The inside the hotel was lovely Thank you for a brilliant afternoon.

I was in. Junior double for a couple of nights and it was a pleasant stay. The parking across the road is Parksafe and although you get 30% discount from the hotel voucher it was still £23.40 for my two nights and they only take cash, a longer stay would have meant a trip to a cash point. The room... More
