Rooms are so so at best, checked in dropped my bags and was well, out on a tour. Check out the Cathedral while in town. Back to hotel and well down to pub, spent entire night there until essentially close rather than be in room. Food was terrific. more

The hotel certainly has a lot of character, with wonky floors all over the place! The central courtyard is gorgeous, and our room was very clean and neat (not at all threadbare). I can't say enough bad things about this hotel. And I am not a finicky traveler. I am willing to put with a lot for charm and a unique experience. But not this place. This hotel is extremely old but has immense character it has a lovely central courtyard and a fantastic real ale bar. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful, the pigeons are a little annoying but looking around it is a problem all over the town.The room was very clean and breakfast excellent.
