We went to Gloucester for carol concert at cathedral, the New Inn looked the type of place we usually stay, we were not disappointed, 17th century coaching Inn beams stone floors and all that. For less than £70 we got a "the Lady Jane Grey" suite, big 6 foot 4 poster bed large room with seating area and a nice... More

My wife and I enjoyed a weekend overnight stay here and were impressed by the hotel. Our room, (205) was at the front of the hotel and was warm despite the cold weather. Carpet was a little faded and stained, but that was our only complaint. Everything was on a tilt with the building being so old, but this just... More

Fantastic building but restaurant wise there isnt any positives too say. Service was rushed and very un polite staff. Food was a massive disappointment. Dried up veg from the carvery stand was placed onto main menu meals. Certainly won't be going back until new management are brought in .

Thank you for your comments. Since our new head chef took over we have had nothing but praise for the food so I am puzzled by cour comments. Our style of service is certainly not hurried in any way and our staff have been praised for their friendliness. We do not use 'dried up vegetables left over from the carvery'... More

The building is stunning, and the attached coffee shop and pub are friendly and cosy. For the very reasonable price this is an excellent choice, right in the centre of old Gloucester. The rooms are simple, but clean and fairly comfortable, and I would recommend.

We were a little concerned about the negative reviews for this hotel but we found them totally unfounded.you can go to a bland characterless Travelodge or here to a very impressive historical building.we found the staff in the hotel and pub friendly and helpful and the buffet breakfast good.if we visit this area in the future we will definitely try... This is a lovely old hotel with so much character. It was built in the 15th century and still has a lot of the old features such as low ceilings, exposed beams and period signs. As a history fan I just loved it, it even had a notice by the entrance detailing the history of the place which made for... More

Stayed on a Saturday night Very friendly and warm welcome from the staff and was able to leave bags in luggage room so we could shop in Gloucester. When we checked on we were told about the noise in the courtyard and nightclub until 2am. Our room 216 would experience the noise. Entered room, nice size room and bathroom however... More

This is a fascinating building, ideally positioned in the centre of town. Our room was a good size with reasonable amenities, however the bed was not very comfortable with round springs that could be felt through the thin padding....long due a change. The restaurant was a bit of a disappointment; in the evening we ordered and then waited 20 minutes... More

Thank you for your comments. We are undergoing a programme of renewal at the moment and new matresses are part of that, so in due course all will be replaced. Your comments about the breakfast sausages are inaccurate and bordering on libellous. More

Decided to have a weekend in Gloucester and looking at what was available we decided to stay at the New Inn within the center of Gloucester town, which gave ourselves the first problem Parking, nearest parking facility was about 10 mins steady walking away. When we entered the property we were delighted with the way it looked, the Inn was... More

Thank you for your comments. Our recommended car park is less than a five minute walk away so unsure where you parked. We apologised at the time about the heating in yourt room, which was repaired quickly. It was not a matter of simply bleeding the radiator. We cannot be held responsible for the city not having your choice of... More
