Just returned from gloucester where we stayed at the Edward Hotel. This was our base whilst we attended the 3 day racing festival at Cheltenham. The hotel is quite pleasant, the rooms were clean, the decor a little dated and they were quite small. Claire was brilliant as she ran between hotel receptionist, bar service, breakfast service and basically anything... more

It was cold and raining, so we got a taxi from the station to the hotel. We arrived at the hotel to find the front entrance closed and locked. It was 5.30pm, cold and raining outside. There was no shelter, so we rang the door bell and waited in the rain for someone to let us in. No one came.... more

We paid extra for a superior en-suite double room and the room was a good size with a chair and table which was useful. The room was spotless and well decorated. The en-suite bathroom was small but adequate in size but is well past its time for a refurbish. We brought a laptop and the wireless internet worked perfectly. The... more

This hotel has a historical theme running through it which is actually quite charming and endearing. Decor in the bedroom is good with some nice unusual historical touches. The hotel's strongest point was the excellent service of the helpful and friendly staff. The cooked breakfast was excellent, and made to order. I didn't eat any other meals in the hotel... more

As long as you dont intend to hang around the hotel the Edward is perfectly acceptable accomodation. The rooms are clean and the decor a little too twee for my tastes. The bathrooms are not up to much but again are clean and well maintained. I stayed at the hotel whilst on business as my clients could not afford putting... more

GREAT Hotel, actually the best one in Gloucester VERY friendly staff and the room is actually really nice. However you pay for what you get as this is a very expensive hotel, but the rooms are nice and the staff are friendly. There is a lil thing worth mentioning and that is that the hotel is not exactly in the... more

I had room 3 which is on the 1st floor, overlooking the front of the hotel. London road is a busy road, so expect some traffic noise - but it's not too bad, the en-sute was literally 1m wide, with a toilet on a 8cm pedestal - I wish I'd had a camera to prove this. The room was sold... more

Myself and my elderly mother (82) were booked into the Edward hotel in May 2006. i had been told by the proprietor it was a "city centre" hotel (as stated on the web site). it is infact out of the town centre by a good 15-20 minutes walk especially if you have an elderly person with you. as a result... more

Very nice B&B just outside the town centre - fairly to easy to find if arriving by car, but car park is through narrow side street. Individually styled rooms - all with personal touch - we had three different ones. Good breakfast - dinner option they do not promote - perhaps meaning they really do not want guests for dinner!... more
