We stayed at the Edward Hotel for the weekend, arriving about 6.30pm on Friday evening. Directions on the website to the car park at the back were good, and we were met at the back entrance to the hotel. We were made very welcome by the owner's father, who checked us in, and then we went to our room, number... More

A comfortable, clean and well appointed hotel for its class, and conveniently located for central Gloucester (15 mins walk). Helpful too, for example arranging early breakfast on Sunday to allow us to get to an early rehearsal in the cathedral. They welcome visiting choirs and some have rehearsed in the reception where there is a piano, though we didn't. Also... More

We stayed at The Edward Hotel during a visit to Gloucester. Our room was on the ground floor next to the garden. It was clean and pleasant enough, if a tad dated - there was a random glass vase glued half way up the wall with dried flowers shoved in it - a bit odd!! That said, we received a... More

We stayed one night here while we had a look around Gloucester. The hotel is slightly worn looking, but was comfortable and very friendly. Our room was a good size and was quiet even though the hotel is on a busy road. It is a short walk into the centre of Gloucester. Our host recommended a Nepalese restaurant along the... More

Upon entering I educed this to be a delightful edifice. We were soon educated by our host as to the nearest edacious venues, editing our map personally to outline the edge of town in accordance with his hospitable edict. We found the room to be edenic and the breakfast most edible. Frankly, if you visit Gloucester and don’t stay at... More

We had a budget room and it was handy for access to the car park but it was a bit cramped and right next to the busy main road. The hotel had a nice character and breakfast was very good, helpful staff and a good location for Gloucester City centre.

Ideally located for our requirements, easy to walk into Town Centre, Docks etc. Bus stop outside if needed. Stayed on top floor of larger part of the building, facing the road. Very slight road noise but nothing that disturbed us. Owners have worked extremely hard at making this a very good hotel, at a reasonable price. Breakfast very good but... More

Brilliant and unusual guest house. Couldn't do enough for us. Short walk from the centre of town. Host has a splendid knowledge of the sights in town and is more than happy to recommend. Spend a while looking at the vast collection of vintage portraits on the walls and see if you can spot the link, or play the piano... More
