Highly recommended and for a short stay it was ideal. Very friendly welcome and helpful information about getting around, where to eat and so on. The hotel itself has a quirky feel, (in the best sense of the word) and if you are looking for a change from the corporate monotony of chain hotels or a glimpse into slightly eccentric... More

We needed a bed close to the Gloucestershire Royal Hospital. This one is a three minute walk away, and has parking. The room was fine with today's essentials of tea/coffee, tv etc, and the breakfast was good too. The owners were very accommodating with our request to use their freezer, and to leave our car for the following day. This... More

I have always had a good feeling whilst staying here. Quirky corridors and stairways. Cosy and clean rooms. The collection of photographs in the dining room is fascinating. The hotel is a short walk into the city. Hotel parking is very welcome.

The room we had was ok, it was clean but a little dated. The bed was comfortable and we slept fairly well. Not much around the hotel but it is a short walk to the town centre. The cooked breakfast was good apart from the service. The hotel needs upgrading, we didn't feel it was value for money and wouldn't... More

The hotel rooms are not as pleasant as they look from the photos. The bathrooms are tiny, and the overall feel was of a boarding house. We were greeted without any warmth and immediately told that we would have to pay before leaving! Then interrogated on what we would be doing in Gloucester so that it could all be plotted... More

This hotel offers personalized service from a proprietor who presents lodgers with intriguing ways to engage their eyes and minds. He'll also provide useful guidance on what to visit in the city. Breakfast is tasty and staff are attentive. There is an outdoor car park at the back of the hotel.

We arrived to a very warm and informative welcome by the owner - excellent guide to Gloucester centre. The hotel is within easy walking distance of the centre and quayside. Our room was very clean and airy with a lovely comfortable bed. It was a chilly evening when we returned from the markets so it was great to sit by... More

I stayed overnight at the Edward, which was clean and tidy, a very British experience I think. It's got a quirky layout with multiple staircases and narrow corridors with different levels. The hotel is in a quiet area, an easy walk to the City Centre and has a good sized car park. I paid on arrival, which is slightly unusual,... More
