We booked this hotel for 1 overnight on our way to Plymouth for the ferry to Santander. The hotel was nice & clean, the room was compact, comfy bed, nice bathroom and again clean! We were travelling on a motorcycle which one member of staff kindly offered to let us park in the staff area which had CCTV, it was... More

My husband booked this hotel as we were visiting Gloucester to see Madness and it was cheaper than the Travelodge when we booked. The discounted parking at NCP car park just round the corner was good at only £3 per day. The room had obviously been a single room at one point as the headboard and wall light was on... More

Very happy with my stay at the New County. Staff were really welcoming and helpful, and the bed VERY comfortable. Second time I've stayed here and I will definitely return. Excellent value for money and a good breakfast.

We stayed at the New County Hotel for 3 nights when attending the Gloucester Shanty Festival ( and the Tall Ships Festival). We found this hotel to be in an ideal location for all the events. We had a friendly greeting from the receptionist on checking in. Our room (no.7) was big enough with a bathroom which looked newly refurbished.... More

We stayed here about a month ago, the room was lovely and spacious and the bathroom was a decent size. The only let down was the noise from the bar and people smoking and drinking outside, unfortunately our room was right above it and all we could hear were couples arguing and loud converations. I would stay here again but... More

I stayed at the new county hotel for three nights during the week. The location of the hotel was perfect for me. The room was very small, the bed was horrendously bad and didn't make for a good nights sleep. The rooms where clean but tatty and not looked after. On openong the window is was covered in bords muck... More

Friendly reception staff but our room was tiny L-shaped with a view of a brick wall and flat roof and, therefore, relatively expensive. It was clean though. The choices of ales and ciders in the bar were very poor having no real ales or ciders that have a vestige of an apple therein! Not even in bottle. Also the prices... More

The hotel has a slight basic feel but perhaps this is because it has no kitchen/dining room. The lack of breakfast may be a problem for some but Gloucester has so many places to get your "Full English" cheaply and some may prefer that they are free to choose an alternative breakfast. The room was fine albeit the view was... More

Awful service ! Terrible food ! Manager looked totally scruffy ! Not enough serving staff. Took over and hour to serve 90 guests ! When I complained about the amount of time it was taking all I got was we have enough staff ! Disgrace ! Would never book any sort of function here.

Hotel nicely located centrally, so good for shops, local attractions and places to eat. No parking of its own, but reduced-cost parking (NCP) behind the hotel. Clean inside so has quite a lot going for it. A few minor downsides: - I booked through Late Rooms and the advert doesn't tell you breakfast is extra. - The room was only... More
