Great Hotel, spotless extremely comfortable rooms, and superb food (albeit a tad expensive). It was just let down by a charmless check in, I have a broken arm and we had a horrendous motorway journey and all I wanted was to get to my room use the loo and have a lie down. Instead we were asked to take a... More

We stayed here with the express intention of seeing the Severn bore. What a fortuitous choice. We arrived much earlier than anticipated, but were made very welcome and the knowledgeable receptionist helpfully advised on a great walk into Gloucester. Interesting location close to the river on marshy land above Gloucester, with an opportunity to visit the restored canal basin at... More

The food at this hotel is excellent. My husband and I had different choices from the menu and it was all very good. The rooms are spotlessly clean and very well appointed. Lovely hand cream and shower gel etc and home made biscuits in the room. We were looked after very well by both the manager and staff. This is... More

The food really was exceptional, we ate in the restaurant twice and everyone mentioned the quality of the food. We were a large party taking up several rooms, they were all spotless, comfy, welcoming and excellent room products to use, a bonus that they have 1 dog friendly room. Breakfast was very high quality also, staff were attentive and genuinely... More

Nice house and surroundings, enjoyable walk to docks area and easy to get a taxi to town. We booked 2 rooms- a luxury and superior. One cost £12 more than the other, but there was little difference. The rooms were smallish but clean, apart from dusty bedside lamps. Pleasant view, enjoyable breakfast with good quality food, although we had to... More

Thank you for your review. We are pleased you enjoyed our stunning location as much as we do, the views and walks really are lovely aren't they! I notice your comments on the Wi-Fi and I am very sorry about this. Unfortunately, we have had countless issues and as a result it has been very unreliable. We are in contact... More

We stayed one night at this hotel outside of Gloucester and had an evening meal here following attending a concert at the cathedral in town. The premises are owned by the Gloucestershire and Herefordshire Canal Trust and we were amazed to learn that all the building work was done by volunteers. The hotel and restaurant's takings contribute to the Trust's... More

Situated just off the A40, we found The Wharfhouse hard to find in the dark, we would suggest illuminated signage to rectify this. We had arrived after a three hour drive to meet friends, the first thing we were asked for were breakfast choices when all we wanted was to find a loo and change for dinner! The luxury king... More

Thank you for taking the time to leave us feedback on your recent stay at The Wharf House. Unfortunately, our signage is the maximum size the local authority would allow us to have. We are always happy though to provide any directions prior to visits or over the phone if anyone is a little lost. I note your comments on... More

Lovely one night stay very welcoming spotlessly clean and well appointed modern rooms , really nice breakfast. We didnt have dinner in the restaurant as it got fully booked (sat night) Superb location on the river and canal basin and fairly close to city centre about 30 minute walk, there is a bus stop right outside. There is also a... More

A lovely stay at The Wharf House, brilliantly placed for visiting Gloucester, just a pleasant walk in. We really appreciated being able to get dinner even though we were very late checking in. Delicious white house wine! Very comfortable all round.

Didn't know this place existed. Only found it by accident on a last minute web site. A real gem. Peaceful haven close to Gloucester; comfortable, good food, friendly service. We ate in the restaurant, good food, reasonable choice and not that expensive.
