Absolutely loved it! I took my dad on Father's Day for a nice Sunday lunch! One of the best roasts we have had! Didn't expect such a nice quality of food from pub! And of course beer was excellent ! Defenately will come again! Thanks to wonderful service! Made our day!

The Fountains roomhas a lovely sunny patio for breakfasts in the sun. The hosts are keen to make your stay enjoyable. It is a country pub with good food, good beer and a friendly atmosphere. The offer of gluten free food is a welcome addition to a range of quality local food and drink.

We booked a stay because of the great reviews given, we were a little surprised that the place did not live up to them. Were we unlucky? The room was small it looked like a single room with a double bed put in, a single wardrobe and bedside side table. Bathroom was nice and a good size, spotlessly clean?.....well the... More

We really enjoyed our stay here. We stayed for two nights and the accommodation was excellent. The room was large, modern and very clean. The continental breakfast served in the room (fresh produce left in the fridge) was a great idea! The pub itself is great, good atmosphere, real ales and very good hot meals. The hosts were very friendly... More

We booked for one night through late rooms. We were allocated the Fountain room which is large and airy with a HUGE bed. We ate dinner in the pub, everything was fresh and delicious. The continental breakfast in the room was really nice and I liked being able to eat it in the room without having to rush to a... More

This was our second visit and we cannot speak highly enough. Yes it is a pub, but with first class rooms, a pub with atmosphere, a friendly welcome and first class food. Both our meals on each visit were really first class and an excellent bottle of wine at a reasonable price. Will certainly be back.

We stayed here for one night with our friends in two rooms. We wanted some accommodation to visit the Ripley Blues club which was reasonable taxi ride away. The accommodation is very good, lovely comfortable clean rooms in a converted barn. Also very impressed with the continental breakfast of cereals, fruit, ham and cheese and bread. Plenty to eat. Only... More

My wife and I were just having a short break to see Ripon and the local area. Stopping at "The Lamb and Flag Barn" at Bishop Monkton was a brilliant idea as we had fantastic hosts and lovely accommodation. The local area will need to be visited again to see more and we will not hesitate where we will be... More

I've recently moved to this village and I love it!...so I am undoubtedly biased. I have read the reviews about the Lamb and Flag - good and bad. I have talked to the landlord, and I very much look forward to getting to know him better. My first visit here was over the jubilee weekend - and I can't think... More
