We could not fault this lovely B&B, from the welcome of home made cakes and tea to our departure everything was perfect. A great breakfast with choice of menu. Special note of the very comfortable bed with soft pillows and quality linen. The surroundings were quiet and rural but Harrogate is within easy reach.

We stayed a Cold Cotes for a long weekend during August. The intial reception was fantastic, with Ed Loft and his staff inviting us to have tea, after settling into our room. The room was fantastic more of a suite than an en suite bedroom. A great sofa with armchairs, a lovely comfortable large bed, fruit and sweets provided and... More

Returned with friends and enjoyed another lovely break. Standards are still excellent, rooms were really comfortable, especially with a sitting room. Great choice at breakfast, so well presented in a lovely breakfast room overlooking the gardens. Joanna & Ed made us very welcome, good start with tea & cakes and their attention to small details make all the difference

Booked Cold Cotes as part of my husbands birthday weekend. We weren't disappointed. Beautiful setting, and first class accommodation. We were made to feel very welcome on our arrival with a tray of tea in the sitting room. Our room was very comfortable with everything we could possibly need. The ensuite was well stocked with fluffy towels and White Company... More

Stayed seven nights at this charming little B&B, apart from a couple of issues that were quickly dealt with we found the room in the barn spacious and comfortable which was set in some lovely gardens with a tea room. The breakfasts fantastically presented with freshly cut flowers decorating the plates/bowls. The bacon and sausages were from a local butchers.... More

We booked Cold Cotes for my elderly mother and for my wife and I to enjoy a two night stay for my son's wedding in nearby Ripley Castle. We were not disappointed. When we arrived we had a sandwich lunch in the tea room which was very pleasant and we were then presented with a beautiful tray of home made... More

This was my first stay here and I'll certainly return if I need to overnight near Harrogate again. From being greeted by name in the car park to the fridge & tea-making facilites and smooth fine cotton bedlinen, to the welcome pot of tea & scone and the beautifully presented & tasty breakfast, everything was first rate.

This was our second visit and just as perfect as the first, the welcome was wonderful with tea and cakes on the lawn, the breakfasts first class and our room spotless. Lovely tea making facilities in the room with biscuits and fresh milk. Lovely to have a separate little sitting area attached, so relaxing looking over the garden watching the... More

This was the second time we have stayed here and it was just as wonderful the 2nd time. Ed is a great host and a very interesting person. The rooms are quite comfortable, but the star attractions are the breakfasts and the gardens. The china is all Portmerion and the food on the china is superb, with fruit, porridge, yogurt,... More
