We have been staying at Cold Cotes for many years and each time we visit it gets better. We always try to stay in room 2 which had its own private sitting room, is very peaceful and extremely comfortable. The breakfasts are delicious and they are always happy to accommodate likes and dislikes. We will go back again.

Cold Cotes really is a special place to be. Ideally located close to all the Dales it offers a lovely atmosphere with truly excellent breakfasts, and evening snacks if such takes your fancy. Ed and the team all go out of their way to make all visitors very welcome including the welcome fresh milk in the room's fridge.

We went for a romantic break to cold cotes, it was fantastic. We requested room 6 which was amazing with lovely decor and everything was so clean and well presented. There was fruit and chocolate in the room and on arrival penny came to the car to help with our luggage. The breakfast was lovely and lots of it. We... More

Tea and cakes were on offer in the guest lounge in front of a lovely log fire as soon as we arrived. The room was very comfortable with plenty of space to store things. Lovely touches - proper milk in the fridge to make tea and coffee in the room, fruit and chocolates, wine glasses etc. Had a very relaxing... More

You start to feel at home from the minute you arrive. Our room was in a barn extention and it was clean, modern, cosy, warm, quiet, well equipped etc.etc. If you had the same room in a very good hotel you would be delighted. The bed was large and very comfortable. Tea and cakes were available in the afternoon....but the... More

Highly recommend this place. Very friendly, gave us tea and cake on arrival. Rooms lovely, equipped with everything you could ever want. The gardens to wander around are beautiful. The breakfast was fantastic, the best I've had.

We stayed at Cold Cotes either side of a week in Northumberland, it was our second /third visit and it was every bit as good as the first time. The welcome is always very warm, the breakfast really sets you up for the day and the beds are fantastic. We like it so much we have bought a gift voucher... More

We spent 1 nights in Cold Cotes, and it was splendid. It was my first night in the English countryside, and I felt as if I was thrown into an 18th century British novel. Beautiful rooms, breathtaking gardens, 2 cute ponys, great breakfast, great hospitality - A unique experience!

We booked here for 2 nights to attend our daughters wedding at a local village. We stayed in room 4 which was very roomy with a very large bathroom. All linen was fresh and high quality. Breakfast was excellent with an unusually wide choice, all served swiftly, in a friendly but not overly intrusive manner. We would highly recommend this... More
