I have been dining at the Chequers for over 15 years, as I have friends who live near by and we always go to the Chequers for lunch whenever I visit. I would call it a classic Yorkshire inn - the menu is full of traditional English classics, but the food is the best for miles around. I believe some... More

Brochure states a family business that cares. How ironic when its no children allowed - adults only! The food is very good but there is no childrens menu. Restaurant is large but in need of a redecoration to bring it into the 21st century!

Sunday carvery is the best by a country mile. Well priced, excellent quality and nice staff. Couldn't recommend it enough. Meats are fantastic and selection of vegatables great. The steak is also brilliant.

We regularly visit the chequers for family meals as the food is delicious especially the steak night and obviously the carvery - best around for miles. The last 2 visits have unfortunately made up my not to return which is such a shame. This is due to the service. I was already put off going again after last times visit... More

This was a last minuet get away and as usual for an August bank holiday everywhere was booked up. Then we came across this place, we rang them and they were so laid back it made us a little unsure as to what to expect, with it being August bank holiday. We turned up to a very warm welcome where... More

I stayed here for 2 nights, the owners couldn't of been more welcoming and friendly. Lovely little place to stay, comfortable and clean. Would definitely stay again! only a few miles away from Harrogate too!
