I am struggling to find any fault with this hotel. Staff were excellent, food good in particular the buffet breakfast which was tasty and freshly cooked Room good size and bed very comfortable. Small car park for which there was a £5 charge but off street parking plentiful. I can see from other reviews that this place has taken a... More

Stayed for one night, lobby and reception very nice, bar staff pleasant as were reception staff. The leisure facilities tired and could do with a good deep clean. I had a single bedroom which was spacious enough for one , bed reasonably comfortable. Has everything you need but again could do with updating. Breakfast was tasty and plentiful. Hotel situated... My brother and I stayed for one night in 2 single rooms. The hotel is dated, tired and dirty. Reception staff were hopeless. Was having a drink in the bar at night and at around 1045 went to get another drink only to be told the bar was now shut, no warning given. There were several people in the bar... More

Although reception was ok, the part of the hotel my room was in is in need of a serious renovation. The carpets were worn and wrinkled trip hazards, paper peeling off the walls and peeling paint everywhere. Staff were very slow to respond to an issue I had with the temperature of the room (ridiculously hot!), even though I was... More

I’m sorry that you were disappointed with your recent visit; I can confirm that the corridors are due to be refurbished this year. Your comments have been discussed with the Reception Manager, who has put procedures in place to ensure this does not happen again. More

As you quite rightly have commented the hotel is extremely central and is indeed a 3 star, we are still working through an improvement programme on the décor of the hotel. Yes parking in Harrogate generally can be limited, therefore we do offer guests to reserve parking and guarantee a space. More

I have just returned from this hotel where I stayed for two nights while attending a conference. Although I agree that the hotel needs updating in some areas, I actually had a room with a brand new bathroom which was nice. The leisure club is a bonus and the staff are lovely. I would definitely stay again especially as it... More

We arrived as a large family group with two young babies. When we went to check in they said their computer system was down and there was confusion about which rooms we had been allocated. We had asked for cots for the babies and there were no cots in the rooms. The staff were less than helpful and said they... More

Our room smelt when we arrived so we were moved to another room. The staff were not the most hospitable. The bar was 'open' all day but the shutters were down, you had to go to reception to ask for a drink, then when they got the chance someone came to serve us. The draft lager smelt bad like the... A group of 7 of us were booked in as a hen party in the crown hotel, unfortunately there was a mix up with our booking but thankfully made a deal for us to stay in the St George's hotel for a similar price. Upon arriving we were impressed at the nice decor and atmosphere in the lobby. However when... More

Stayed at here on a Shearings mid-week break, and was a little apprehensive after reading some negative reviews on this site. However we were pleasantly surprised. Perhaps they paid more than we did, I don't know, but we thought we had excellent value for money. At the price we paid I didn't expect a 5 star hotel. But this was... More
