The hotel has just started a carvery on Sundays. My partner and I visited on 17th of May 2015, their 1st Carvery. We were very pleased with the food on offer and very reasonable prices too. The staff were very helpful and pleasant. I would personally like a larger selection of sweets, but it was only their 1st Carvery. We... More

This is an average 3 star hotel in an excellent central location. 3 star means what it says on the tin! It's quite amazing how many travellers these days choose a hotel based on its 3 star good value rates and then pick holes in it - expecting to be given a 4 or 5 star experience. We found the... The location of this hotel is ideal as within two minutes walk of the centre. We stayed two nights on a half board basis and the food was very good. However, the hotel is in need of renovation. The reception, lounge and dining room areas are ok but the stairs and rooms are very run down and in need of... More

We have 2 Health and Safety inspections, a fire department visit and one local authority visit per year. All of our exits are regularly inspected and lead to the assembly point in the car park so I can not understand your confusion. I am sorry you felt this was not the case. Thank you for the comments regarding the food... More

Me & my mum stayed here for the weekend, we booked this hotel as they had leisure facilities we could use and is close to all the shops and bars in Harrogate centre which was great! Pre-booking your parking is a must, luckily we did. Checking in was fine, lovely young guy checked us in and offered us with a... More

Booked last minute for a night away and was very disappointed indeed. Shabby and basic and nothing special at all. Paid £109 for double room and expected much much more. Thought we had prebooked parking as we added this to our booking form, but apparently can only do it direct with hotel. Fire alarm went off at 7.30 getting all... More

The fire alarm was caused by a guest smoking in their room, certainly not a member of staff. I am very sorry about the alarm being an inconvenience but can sleep soundly at night knowing all of my hotel guests are as safe as possible as my fire prevention equipment is in full working order. The guest has been charged... More

What hotel starts breakfast at 8:30... !! Not many. There are lots of unhappy guests in the lobby waiting for breakfast Good location to main shopping area and Royal Baths The hotel is a good price for what it is but take it for what it is ... £60.00 a night including breakfast is good Parking excellent at the rear... I am pleased you enjoyed most aspects of your stay. Breakfast is later on a weekend as the guests usually prefer a nice lie in. If you chose to stay again don’t be afraid to ask for an early breakfast. As stated in the public areas and in guest bedrooms, breakfast can be provided at any time. More

MAKE SURE you have pre-booked parking. This was not mentioned when I booked by phone with Coast and Country and ambiguous wording on the confirmation paperwork led me to believe I had reserved parking. The alternatives offered are a joke - move your car every 3 hours is not my idea of a holiday, even if there was somewhere available... More

There are four options available to guests unable to park at the hotel: 1) Pay and display from 8am -6pm immediately outside the front of the building 2) Free on street parking within a 5 minute walk – all day every day 3) Disc zone where you can only stay in a zone for 3 hours at a time but... On arrival we didn't realise we had to pre-book parking, the receptionist said if we hadn't pre-booked then we couldn't park. He didn't attempt to check if there was any parking spaces left so we had to assume it was full and so had to park at a multi-storey 5minutes walk away. He also offered us breakfast at a discounted... More

I have investigated the comments regarding the room you stayed in and have arranged the repairs as necessary. Most of the bedrooms and all of the public areas have been updated since Shearings took over this property. The hotel is very conveniently located right in the centre of town which is certainly an added bonus. Thank you for the review. More
