Comfortable room, good food, good service, pleasant staff. Close to town centre, adequate car parking. That's my kind of hotel. (But I wish they could do something to stop the floors squeaking at every footstep!) more

This was the worse hotel we ve stayed at. the rooms were shabby, peeling wallpaper, dirty carpets, all the furniture was badly marked, all the paint was peeling off the window sill. The hotel was covered in scaffoding, the outlook from our room was horrible. If you wanted cheese and biscuits you were asked to pay an extra £1 50. Which... more
Booked hotel on late rooms before reading trip advisor! Was extremely apprehensive before arriving. However, scaffolding has now gone. The hotel is extremely well located for Harrogate. It is a bit jaded. Our room (131) was a large double with an extra bed. The room was very spacious with a large bathroom. The room and bathroom were jaded but clean... more
Spent 2 nights here in mid June in the family room - one double and one single bed. The first impression was of a building covered in scaffolding and an overcrowded, uneven car park strewn with litter. At check in the staff were disinterested, unfriendly and particularly uncooperative when we pointed out that the rate they were charging was higher... more
booked this hotel after looking at web site. NO MENTION OF SCAFFOLDING OR REFURBISHMENT WHICH WITHOUT DOUBT GIVES A VERY POOR VIEW OF THE HOTEL WHEN ARRIVING. The hotel car park entrance shows lack of upkeep and hotel was shabby. Our room had a very musty smell and the state of the bathrrom was terrible. It was so bad we... more
After reading some reviews we where very apprehensive about staying at this hotel, thankfully we had a fantastic time. They room was lovely , yeah maybe it needed decorating but it was clean as was the bathroom. The bed was lovely and comfortable.Tea and coffee facilities in room and we also had a table and 2 chairs positioned in the... more
One of the worst hotels i've ever stayed in. Be particularly careful when in the bar as there is a hole concealed by the carpet in the floor near near the central pillar which will almost certainly result in you falling flat on your face if you are unfortunate enough to step on it. My single room had a towel... more
We originally booked into this hotel for 2 nights at a cost of £118 total, but on seeing the room, upgraded immediately, which cost an extra £60. It was dim and gloomy, the room had a smell of bleach which permeated into every corner, and we were disappointed to find there was no table should we wish to eat breakfast... more
We have just come back from a stay in this hotel. We were apprehensive after reading some of the reviews but how wrong they were. We were in room 219 which was very comfortable and quiet. Breakfast was excellent and plentiful and the 3 course dinner in the evening was very good value for money. The staff couldn,t have been... more
Like many others here, the various reviews was sufficient to have me worried what I was heading to after booking this hotel on-line. However i can only say my wife and i had a great stay here. if i wrote an overly bias report in favour of the hotel without commenting on what others have said would be irresponsible to... more
