Just back from a short break in this remarkably preserved "old-fashioned" style hotel which played heavily upon its connections to the life of Agatha Christie. It was all very tastefully decorated, if not quite as "up-to-the-minute" as some places, because that wouldn't have been appropriate. I suspect that, if the unexpectedly blistering heat of Harrogate in late July hadn't kept... More

Stayed for one night in a deluxe double room two weeks ago. The service was extremely good and the dining very fine. Although the room was spacious there was only one window to cast light into a very dark room (window would not open -so very warm). Comfortable bed, tea and coffee making facilities and large but sparse bathroom. Good... More

Stayed for one night in July, the room 332 was adequate with very poor ventilation which was one window that opened 150mm and then locked to prevent someone climbing 1800mm up and throwing themselves 6metre to the ground, ridiculous the healthy and safety extremes some places go to, the hotel had ran out of fans so basically myself and my... Sorry to say, this hotel is old, faded and uncomfortable. The pillows are like bricks but the bed is ok. The noise from the corridor is loud with floorboards protesting every time people walk on them. Not impressed for the price but the location was great. Very central. Had fire evacuation and resulting eviction of guest, who was staying in... More

Just returned from a few nights at the Swan, it's has history and of course Agatha and her runaway, it has a large lawned area, grand entrance, our room was at the back, which was a shame, but it was ok, shower was powerful and room clean, my only slight gripe, was the double bed was not as comfy as... Very disappointing. Myself and my partner stayed at the swan hotel in Harrogate for 2 nights in June 2014 for £108 per night. We were attending a wedding on the Saturday night so thought that we would treat ourselves to a break at your hotel. However, when we saw our room we were very disappointed. It was very small and... I stayed here for a three-day conference. My room (240) was a nice size, with a large double bed, a desk, two armchairs and space to move around. It had a large window looking towards the back, and was quiet. The bathroom was small but adequate and the shower was powerful. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The hotel... More

I stayed here whilst attending a conference. It was grossly overpriced. My room was dark and airless. Breakfast was bearable and chose not to risk the restaurant after hearing tales of culinary woe from colleagues. A 4 bedded serviced apartment was half the price and at least twice as good. I won't be going back to this hotel.

My husband and myself stayed at the Old Swan Hotel in Harrogate over the Grand Depart weekend of the Tour de France in July this year, and had mixed thoughts on our stay! The hotel is without doubt, very old and charming, and the entrance lobby and downstairs areas are full of charm and elegance. We personally felt the décor... More

I suppose everyone says that! My daughter's wedding was held at the Old Swan in Harrogate on Sunday 13th July. The organising staff (Wedding planner and Events manager) were too wonderful and helpful for me to describe. The effort and planning they put into it were superb, especially as I have a control-oriented, every-last-detail-matters daughter and son-in-law. They were with... More
