This hotel is not for the modernist wanting minimalism and shiny finishes, it has an olde world charm which I liked. The lobby and bar areas were peaceful and relaxing areas of calm overlooking the gardens. The hotel's Claim to fame is that Agatha Christie spent her "lost" 10 days here as a guest and it doesn't take much to... More

We had our wedding reception and stayed in the bridal suite afterwards. The staff were excellent and very helpful, and the wedding coordinators were on the ball and provided a great package for a great price. Our wedding suite was lovely with a 4 poster bed and stand alone bath. We couldn't reccomend it more highly.

The hotel was very nice. Beautiful lounge and bar area. There was a bit of confusion with our room on arrival. We booked a twin room and was given a double, but was soon sorted and changed rooms. The bedroom was good. Pillow on beds were a bit naff. Plenty of hot water for showers. Only complaint was only two... More

The staff were polite and helpful. The service was good. The inclusive dinner was excellent value as was the cooked breakfast. The afternoon tea was only fair but as it was a bonus so no complaint. The room was small but adequate with a large bathroom. At the price we paid it was really good value for the money.

Spent last weekend at the Old Swan on one of those last minute ideas for a couple of days in Harrogate. On arrival at the hotel, the location was and is superb and the first impressions are great. At the top of a quiet street, immediately adjacent to the town centre, the building looks well cared for and inviting. Good... More

We recently stayed at The Old Swan Hotel in Harrogate for 4 nights. It was a group booking so we did not expect the best rooms. However our room (135) on first floor was very large and well equipped if slightly dated We had read TRIP ADVISOR reports about noise from Wedding receptions but had none what so ever. The... More

Stayed for one night for a surprise family event with a very warm welcome on our arrival. Given room 338 up on the top floor and out the back of the hotel somewhere. Hotel is full of beautiful old charm with delightful architecture inside and out. The dining room with its vaulted glass ceiling and architraves transforms you back to... More

Nice and central for Harrogate and impressive frontage, pleasant staff. Chose an 'executive' room but other than robes, slippers and chocolates not sure what the difference was to a standard double so didn't feel the extra was worthwhile. Room was in need of refurb and updating but clean enough. Breakfast was reasonable accept for the orange juice and the tea... More

My husband and I stayed for one night on Saturday 25 July in a standard room. When we booked approximately 4 weeks ago, the hotel had summer specials on offer, so our room price included a mini afternoon tea and dinner for £20 less than the 'normal' rate. When you arrive at the hotel, it's just beautiful, the grounds appear... More

Everything in the hotel was fine and what i expected. The only thing that let it down was the breakfast service, which to be honest was a bit of a lottery. You were told to sit anywhere which presented the first problem that being finding a clean table, the second was getting someone to take your order and the food when it came... More
