May 28, 2009 | Trip type: Family

I took my family here for a bank holiday weekend and found it quite a surprise. The staff were willing to help out by pointing out different activities for my family to do over our time in Harrogate, which we greatly enjoyed. The breakfast was cooked wonderfully and the staff were always smiling and helpful. They assembled a travel cot... more

We were passing through Harrogate and stayed at the Ashley House for convenience. It was an on the spot choice - a place with vacancies! Room was clean, beds were incredibly comfortable and the lady who checked us in very pleasant. Altogether a not bad stay, yes the place is dated and some rooms may be worse than others. We... more

Myself and three friends stayed here for one night, last saturday. We booked two double rooms. We managed to get parked, although I think a permit is required (which you can get from the hotel) but I didn't know this so was probably lucky to have avoided a ticket. One of the rooms we were allocated was great (room2), really... more

We have just arrived home today after a 3 night stay at the above hotel. On arrival we were shown into a room that looked like the 4* this hotel is starred as. On checking there was no milk for coffee. I went to the reception and had to wait at least 10 minutes to get any milk. The complimentary... more

Very ordinary b and b , no facilities ,overpriced for what it is , must get away with it in Harrogate. Read some of other [mixed ] reviews can only assume that the guys that were happy with this place aint been to any class hotels and were satisfied with pretty basic acccomodation albeit clean an kinda old fashioned. more

For the fourth year in a row Ron and Linda have proved excellent hosts. A group of us were fortunate enough to *happen* on Ashley House when we were looking for accommodation for the nurses' conference in Harrogate in 2002. We liked it so much that we have returned every year since, and we are extremely sad that the conference... more
