I paid in advance direct with the hotel and received a great deal on two rooms for three of us. I had booked a small double and it was everything I required. The bed was comfortable, bathroom well appointed. Breakfast buffet provided plenty of options and all the staff were helpful and pleasant. Hotel is in a great location, only... More

If this hotel has had a major refurbishment I would be interested to know where the money has been spent as it is far from apparent. Decor is outdated and tired and really not of the standard one expects in this day and age. Beds very uncomfortable and room ventilation poor. A real shame as this building could be phenomenal... A fairly tired establishment which was probably quite nice in Victorian times. Beds were lumpy and have probably seen a bit too much action. A bit of a shame as great location in town centre. Needs a makeover it would make a nice 4 seasons for example.

Stayed here for two nights (June) we had booked a superior double as we needed to cover two adults & a growing child! The hotel is relatively stately & positioned within very easy walking distance to all Harrogate has to offer , shops , pubs & restaurants. The rooms are functional , clean & well managed from a house keeping... More

During a recent trip to the UK, my Mother, Aunt, and her partner were very enthusiastic to show me Harrogate, somewhere where I have never been. The highlight was the stay in the very beautiful crown hotel. Walking through the front doors was like stepping back in time, you could almost see Churchill putting out his cigar in the reception lounge.... More

This hotel is right on the doorstep of the Harrogate Conference centre so it is perfect for that venue. It is a traditional hotel and you can tell most of their custom is with conference attendees but that is no bad thing. A large comfortable lobby with plenty of newspapers awaits if you get behind a large group. My room... More

Whilst attending a wedding here recently I experienced really bad customer service. After the food had been served, I went to try and get some drinks for myself and my table. There was a fair walk down the corridor to get to the bar and after ordering a round I asked if there was a tray I could borrow to... More

Large impressive building in a prominent easily reached central position. No space in car park. Carpets in foyer a bit smelly. Reception and all other staff foreign, not a Yorkshire burr anywhere. Room clean, spacious with very nice bathroom and shower. Bed was well made but of cheap material, I expect pocket sprung mattresses. A good night sleep though as... More

Dear Malcolm1973 Thank you for taking time to write a review and I am pleased that you mostly enjoyed your stay at the hotel. While we do have quite a few members of staff from overseas, we also have quite a lot of English staff, some of which are from Harrogate though I will say that they haven't got much... More
