Hotel very central. Has olde world charm, but some areas rather dated .My single room was quite spacious, but faced onto inner courtyard and was rather dark. None of the windows would open. Weather hot and humid. Very limited parking. Had to drop off my luggage, then search for suitable, long term street parking. Found a precious space 600 metres... More

Visited Harrogate for the TDF and after the finish was wandering around the area when I was drawn by music to The Crown Hotel. They had put on an outside music feature supplied by DJ's and coupled it with an outdoor BBQ supplying burgers, pulled Pork and a vegetarian option. The car park was closed to,vehicles but was full of... More

We stayed at this hotel early in 2013 and returned for a couple of nights en route south to London really curious to see whether improvements had been made. This is a substantial period building with fine public rooms, and seems nowadays to cater mainly for large groups attending conferences and weddings. Minor changes, mainly new furniture, have been made... More

Stayed for work during the Tour and had a really enjoyable stay, the room was clean and comfortable and I was really happy the hotel had bars set up outside so we could get a drink after work, and although there was a great party atmosphere in Harrogate that night the noise wasn't an issue at all! We also had... More

Stayed at the Crown, during the duration of the Yorkshire Show. Had booked two single en suite rooms for my Brother and myself late 2013. The hotel is ideally situated within the town centre and so access to shops, restaurants and bars is excellent. I noted the problems with parking (the car park is indeed on the small side) so... Sadly this hotel did not come close to our expectations. Problems with parking on arrival which is very limited. The front entrance porch doubles as a smoking shelter which drifts nicely inside the hotel reception. Our room was spacious enough but felt claustrophobic as it was in the middle of the hotel and very dark and stuffy, the windows would... More

I stayed here recently to attend a wedding. My room was spotlessly clean, the breakfast was superb, and the staff were all excellent - however the bed was truly AWFUL. Way too small - smaller than a standard double, and this, together with the heat (no air con) and the endless noise from the street, made for a terrible night.... More

We stayed at the Crown in Harrogate for my boyfriend's birthday, which just happened to be the Friday of the Tour de France Grand Depart - so very manic! However it was a great atmosphere around the city centre and the hotel is definitely one of the best to stay at if you need a central location - it's just... More

Good location. The outside and the entrance parts look very grand as do the dining halls and the breakfast room. The rooms were comfortable and clean but were quite basic and you felt like they had lost their special something a little bit. It was very warm so we asked for a fan. Breakfast was very good plenty of choice.... More

I was taking a friend who is temporarily disabled to a birthday party at this hotel which is in the centre of Harrogate. I rang ahead and they promised to save a disabled bay for us even though we don't have a blue sticker. When I got there the bay was reserved with my name on it-well done indeed. It... More
