We were in Harrogate for a Sunday Wedding. Arrived on the Saturday night. Booked in OK but when we got to the room ite was a Twin. We had booked a double. Phoned down to reception & they said woiuld sort it. Meanwhile had a wee nosey round the Twin Room. Was looking abit dated & tired. (the room that... more

We recently had our wedding ceremony and reception at the Majestic. The venue was beautiful and the events staff ensured the day ran very smoothly. The food was excellent and all our guests commented very positively on their overall 'experience' of the Majestic. The public areas of the hotel are a bit dated but this adds to the charm and... more

My husband and I stayed at the Majestic on a 2 night break over the May Bank Holiday. Whilst the main hotel is stately and grand it is a little tired in the public areas. However, the room we had - 126 - was totally fantastic. Recentrly renovated and large and airy with a beautiful bathroom and luxurious furnishings. We... more

My wife and I booked into this hotel for our anniversary, I had repviously beend there ebfore and enjoyed it -HOWEVER, this time the conference season was in full swing and the grounds were occupied by visitors tents, spoiling the tranquil nature of the hotel which I had previously enjoyed despite its close location to the town centre. Thius completely... more

We visited this Victorian amazed by the amount of negative press it had generated. We need not of worried, it surpassed them. After a letter of complaint the manager invited us for a complinentory week end, here are just a few improvments. The whole hotel has lost it's 'Lack lustre' feel. The revampted rooms are so much more Barcelo. The... more

What a sad, tired hotel. You can see it was once nice but little has been invested in the building. You could even see broken windows on the tops floors (were probably once staff quarters). As tired as the hotel was, the rooms were clean and reasonably up-to-date. The worst part about our stay was some of the staff: the... more

Just spent the weekend at the Majestic and cannot understand the recent criticisms. Yes there are signs of fatigue but to keep such a vast hotel in tip top decorative order would be almost impossible. Our room was decorated in a 'boutique' style and the bathroom containing whirlpool bath, separate hydro shower and top of the range fixtures and fittings... more

dont be fooled by the write up for this very very shabby hotel, the outside facade matches the run down interior. A lot of money for poor service, look around on the net there are much much better hotels and all local to the town centre. Its about time this eye sore was demolished. you have been warned,oh forgot to... more

This hotel is in a great location, easy walking distance to everything in the town. The hotel its self needs to have a great deal of money spent on it. Room was clean but very dated with no double glazing, one small old radiator & worn decor. Would expect more from this hotel for this price! Found it strange that... more

We booked the Barcelo Majestic in Harrogate as we had stayed in their hotel in Oxford which was extremely good and we naively expected the same standard. We arrived late afternoon and were given the key to a room on the third floor. It say it was a disappointment is an understatement! I have never seen so much dust in... more
