We were in Harrogate for a short break and the location is excellent. Lots of places to eat nearby and also shopping and attractions are walkable. So why is it only average? On arrival we found a few stray hairs in the shower, though generally the cleanliness was good. Breakfast is basic with a few cereals and the cooked offering... More

In my opinion its a cheap place that is literally across the road from the convention centre. The whole of Harrogate is otherwise walkable. It is really a case of you get what you pay for. The rooms are tiny, breakfast is ok, and it is best suited for a single person on a budget. My only issues with the... More

On reading the reviews prior to coming here, I wasn't sure what to expect, as there were many negative comments. But I now think some of the visitors were not fair when they criticised these aspects. Obviously, if you turn a well-built 19th century terraced house into a small Hotel, the rooms are going to be on the small side,... More

I'm writing this as I sit in the breakfast room. I say breakfast, I mean 2 pieces of anaemic bacon, 1 egg, a few beans, half a small tomato and a mushroom. No sausage = not a full English On arrival the woman wasn't very open. The hotel itself was great for 1 night but I couldn't have done more... More

You get what you pay for and everything went well while here. My room was adequate however the facilities had a very strange door. You have to put up with the traffic noise as the hotel is on a main road. The breakfast was good and the staff very helpful putting my TV right when I couldn't get it tuned... More

We stayed for the knitting and stitching show, and it was very convenient for that. Bit of a hike up to our room on the top floor, but it was very clean and comfortable, with plenty of milk and tea bags etc. We found Tanya to be most helpful and friendly, allowing us to leave our bags on the day... Recently stayed here with my girlfriend. The room was reasonable size. The shower didn't work in the morning and nearly scalded my girlfriend. Breakfast was horrendous- no option on eggs just came out as a nuked fried egg, toast was thin white bread. Bacon was dreadful, no sausages. We didn't eat much of it. Would not recommend.
