Well, it all started off badly. Front door was locked on arrival - we had to buzz an intercom to gain access and waited almost 10 minutes in reception expecting any minute for someone to check us in. After we realised no-one was coming we noticed a phone with a message indicating that we could use this to contact someone... more

We only needed somewhere to put our heads as we have family, but great for town and parking free which is bonus as expensive. Breakfast was good.... more

We arrived at The Aston not expecting 'The Ritz', however the room deco was far from standard with a chipboard bedside table covered over with cloth, plastic candle shaped lights, peeling wallpaper + a home-made 'Ferrero Rocher' tub with cotton wool balls inside sat on a 'paper doily' for an ornamental addition. To accompany the 'on suite' toilet was the... more

I can only find two positive points about this hotel: - very good location – you can easily walk to town and parking is available outside the hotel (free at the weekends and weekdays you need to ask for a pass at the reception) - beds were comfortable Let’s start the negatives ONLINE BOOKING - Made the booking online (with... more

No member of staff staying in hotel, when fire alarm went off at 1am it took Hotel Owner 10 minutes to arrive! Nobody checked off guests we could have all perished in our beds. Don't know how they passed their fire inspection! Will be writing to all relevant Tourist Boards to find out. more
