I stayed here for 5 nights. It is located right next to the A1 so very handy for travel. However if you are a light sleeper this could keep you awake due to the noise. The breakfast staff seem a bit flustered, even though it wasn't that busy they were very disjointed and one of the younger members tried clearing... More

We stayed for a couple of nights whilst visiting Burghley Horse Trials in September. We stayed last year without the dog and had a wonderful room in the main hotel. This year because we brought the dog we stayed in a ground floor room at the back of the hotel which wasn't quite to the same standard, i.e. the bathroom... More

We didn't stay but dropped in for lunch in the restaurant having previously stopped off here from the A1 on our journey North. The Haycock is very conveniently located for a rest bite break from the A1 and for destinations such as Peterborough and Stamford. The village is picturesque and the hotel too. The main street is quiet in comparison... More

We called in for afternoon tea, the hotel is just off the A1, set in beautiful gardens, there is ample parking, the hotel is very clean and tidy and the staff very efficient and friendly. The afternoon tea was served by Leigh, it consisted of tea or coffee, sandwiches, scones with cream and ten small fancies. I can thoroughly recommend... More

We had our wedding here on the 15th August. We had an amazing day in this beautiful hotel! We got married in the lovely Tapestry room and had our reception in the conservatory. Bryony (wedding co-ordinator) was really helpful and professional from the day we booked our big day to the end and was always on hand to answer any... More

Lovely building in a lovely village. The hotel rooms were very good, very old with plenty of character and ambience. Staff were friendly but professional and we were given a meeting room at zero notice with very fair rates. This is a perfect hotel for business, leisure or a romantic weekend. I cannot imagine how anyone could rate this hotel... More

We booked an Executive room expecting a little bit of luxury, we were disappointed. The room was very small with no seating area, very squeaky floorboards, cobwebs & paint peeling from windows, very dirty dressing table. Decent size bathroom with a separate shower cubicle, however, the bathroom amenities were abysmal consisting of one very small shampoo & one shower gel, extras were... More

I stayed at the Haycock Hotel, with my husband, after visiting the Bird Fair at Rutland. We were greeted by friendly Reception staff who gave us details of the facilities available to us while staying in the hotel and gave us directions on how to get to our room. We were allocated a Garden Room which was well furnished, spacious,... More

Our last visit was an overnight one, but we've eaten here with guests on a number of occasions. On walking through reception, there were three staff, one distinctly looked down her nose at us and said nothing, one ignored us, but a 3rd younger lady did smile and welcome us. Staff turnover seems to be frequent. On this visit, we... More

Stayed at the Haycock for a local wedding. Hotel is located in a wonderful little village and is very picturesque. Pretty old property but very well maintained and just added to the ambiance of the place. Walls were a little thin as I could hear some pretty good snoring going on in the room next door! Very nice grounds, great... More
