Hotel was beautiful, room large , modern bathroom and spotlesley clean. Breakfast excellent. But the outstanding thing about this hotel was the receptionist Diane, she was cheerful , helpful and totally accommodating to our requests and needs, if only more hotels had "Diane's", Sue & Mike Australia

We stayed at the Haycock last weekend. It was lovely. When we arrived at the hotel, which is easy to find being just at the junction with the A1 and A47, I had my reservations as there was a wedding party arriving. Great the place will be over run by people thinking they are more important than other paying gusts... More

Nice room, lovely furniture, comfortable bed with good quality bedlinen, and so quiet despite its location next to the busy A1. The room was rather dark, however and the fan in the bathroom wouldn't go off, even after several hours. The bathroom door was also very difficult to open/close.Breakfast next morning was superb, although the price of dinner in the... More

Table for 10, Went for family lunch at the Haycock hotel for brother-in-law and wife the opportunity to see family before moving permanently to live in France. However the meal was average, cold and rushed. As we were about to sit, we were asked about wine list, we asked waiter if they could give us 10 minutes to get seated... More

I stayed for one night (lone female) on business trip. Made to feel very welcome...I'd forgotten some toiletries and the receptionist was very accommodating and even delivered to my room! I opted for a meal from the room service menu, beautiful home-made, incredibly tasty pasta dish with super king prawns! Bathroom slightly old and dated but clean and comfortable. Definitely... More

Stayed one night whilst on a bisiness trip. Very friendly and helpful receptionist, who directly promptly to my room. This is an older property ( 14th cetruy inparts) so it is quirkly , and creaks and groans to show its living history. My room was spacious enough to enable me to work, and quiet despite the proximity to the A1M.... More

We stayed for 2 nights for a wedding. We were greeted by a very friendly receptionist who was helpful throughout our stay. The hotel dates back to the 14th Century and is very quirky full of beams, nooks and crannies. We had a fairly small but comfortable room with tea/coffee making facilities but no bottles of water. I asked for... More

I had booked me & the husband into the Haycock as a treat for his birthday - and we were not disappointed. The room was a tad bijou, but well appointed all the same. And the food we had for our dinner and breakfast was simply superb. OK, so there are cheaper places. But the quality of food, accommodation, and... More

I stayed here for 5 nights. It is located right next to the A1 so very handy for travel. However if you are a light sleeper this could keep you awake due to the noise. The breakfast staff seem a bit flustered, even though it wasn't that busy they were very disjointed and one of the younger members tried clearing... More

We stayed for a couple of nights whilst visiting Burghley Horse Trials in September. We stayed last year without the dog and had a wonderful room in the main hotel. This year because we brought the dog we stayed in a ground floor room at the back of the hotel which wasn't quite to the same standard, i.e. the bathroom... More
