I stayed over the night of 7/8 July following an engagement party just outside Cambridge. I could not get a place any closer ! When I arrived at reception there was a person seeking a room. Fortunately I had booked ahead. The man on reception was very friendly and booked me in as soon as he could. I ended up... more

Yes, the AC was off on May 24-25 (it was broken and needed last minute repair on a bank holiday). It is a clean facility attached to a rest area of sorts with food and supermarket facilities. But the one issue I had was a bed that felt no better than a box spring. I have heard of firm but... more

This is a reasonable quality hotel with clean environment and facilities with an excellent rate. However arriving here on a summer's day could put you in for a nasty sleeping experience - the air conditioning probably needs re-gassing as it could not lower the very stuffy room temperature even when on full all night. Plus the window opened just a... more

Stayed here for 1 night only, found it very clean and well looked after. Seemed a cut above your usual travel lodge style inn. Room was a good size and the furniture in the room was in good condition... Would avoid taking the B&B option as its at a service station, so there is a choice of Mcdonalds, Pizza Hut,... more

I have stayed at this hotel several times (with having family living in a village 2 miles down the road), both with my partner in a double room and also with our daughter in a 'family' room. We have taken advantage of a benefit of being a 'First Directory' customer and get to book the rooms at half price (£30... more

My partner and I were invited to a barbecue in Wansford, just off the Great North Road and were advised to stay at the Haycock. I have nothing against the Haycock but felt that at a rate of £125 a night just to attend a barbecue was a little out of my budget. I decided to have a look around... more

The hotel is excellent for location, price, cleanliness, room facilites and friendly staff. An excellent traveller stop over, ideally placed right alongside the main North-South A1/A1M. The downside? unless you are a fast food freak be prepared for a short drive to find a decent restaurant as you only have choice of McDonalds, KFC, Pizza Hut Express etc. In other... more
