This place was recommended to us however when we arrived we were offended by the remarks made by the gentleman at reception. We left the part of the 'passport details' blank on the registration card and the gentleman still asked if we had our passport. He said it was a legal requirement which we are aware of if you have... I phoned both the gentleman and his wife and thanked them for their comments and for taking the time to discuss them with me. We have an international clientele who come from all corners of the globe and a multi racial, multi cultural workforce. As fellow hoteliers this couple will be aware of the legal requirements on check in but... More

We had a one night stay in this hotel 2 weeks ago. It was a very nice room, though a tad small to walk about in. The bathroom looked newly fitted and was spotless. The room was decorated lovely and had a comfortable bed. The breakfast was varied an served at the table, except for the continental breakfast which you... More

This had seen mixed reviews and must admit location (just off main West Rd) was contentious but proved an eye-opener.Lovely setting almost semi-rural.i was in the main out-building which looked very impressive. However,it was the smallest room I have ever stayed in and the walls were wafer thin..every noise conveyed!Entrance through the french windows was novel!Room very clean, new, and well finished... We made a group booking for some rooms and a small function. Very impressed with the hotel itself and the staff who made us feel very welcome. We were in the new section and had a director's room - as we needed the beds with young children. Extremely spacious and fantastic bathroom! Waitress service hot breakfast is very nice. Good... More

We stayed in a room opposite the Reception area with the entrance through French doors via a landscaped garden. The room was modern, spotlessly clean and very comfortable with tea/coffee facilities which were refreshed each day. Bathroom was good with nice variety of "complimentary" toiletries. The Reception to this hotel is luxurious with marble and beautiful oil paintings. Good welcome... More

All the bedrooms were spread out in the grounds. The main building which is a beautiful old building has the bar and breakfast room. We went there in December and found it a little cold but can imagine it to be a fabulous place in the warmer months. Especially good for children as they can play outside as some rooms... More

Stayed between Christmas and New Year visiting family. Booked a standard room (told it was newly refurbished) which was nice with all emenities though bathroom a bit small. Next day took tour of the hotel and decided to up-grade to a new wing extension called Deanes Lodge. Room was beautiful with luxury bathroom, surround shower, marble flooring and even tv... More

Booked a standard room but got a free upgrade to one of the luxury rooms in Deanes Lodge. Fabulous! Nice big room, super bathroom and great shower. Free wi-fi asexpected but the mouse thing to hard wire an added bonus as my company does not like us to connect wirelessly. Did not try restaurant but bar food very good -... More

The Barn Hotel is well set back from a relatively busy suburban road and consists of a main building and a number of outerbuildings which would have been stables and other outhouses many years ago. The main building dates back to the 19th century and retains some of the original features. The car park is fairly small but was never... More

I have just returned home from here and would advise you to book with caution. The description and photos look very nice but beware as the barn has sub standard rooms that do not have the facilities of a standard room. I booked 2 rooms for my family and the rooms were an absolute disgrace, tiny, damp mouldy and stained... More
