Our second stay at this inn, even had the same room allocated. Nice clean room, comfy bed and the pub meals are excellent, not a big menu but you get a big plate full of food and lots of veg. The full English breakfast is huge and worth every penny. Staff are friendly and more than happy to offer advice... More

My wife and I stayed here for one night in March. We had room number 1 which was very spacious with a nice bathroom. When we arrived we were made very welcome and shown to our room. The lady booked us a table for the evening meal and we also booked the breakfast for the next morning. The bar area... More

Where do I start?! We arrived and were greeted by friendly happy staff. We were then showed to our room, which was immaculate, smelt fantastic and was cosy and welcoming. We were asked if we were going to be eating at their pub and we said yes (we had already heard fantastic reviews) she stated that she would book a... More

Well after spending quite a while with my brother planning out nice places to stay around the uk, we where quite unpleasantly surprised after our arrival at the Oakwheel Inn! To start with after advertising all over the place they served food daily, this obviously was not the case, but after eating breakfast this didn't seen like so much of... More

This is the second time my partner & I have stayed at the Oakwheel (mid-week), and it's just as we remembered. The Oakwheel is a great pub with Real Ale, good food and a fab fire. As other reviewers have mentioned the portions for both dinner & breakfast are generous. Wendy and her staff are very friendly and nothing seems... More

Stayed overnight here last Friday. Welcome was really friendly and we were shown to the 'Punch and Judy' room which was well appointed. Nearly had an accident with the kettle, though, as its lead was barely long enough to reach the table. This safety issue should really be resolved asap. Evening meal was well cooked and enormous! Dessert was not(!)... More

Visited this pub as if had been recommended and we were not disappointed. We had lamb shank and it was superb. The only problem we had was on the Monday night when we tried to eat there and were told they didn't do food on a Monday. This was really frustrating as we had telephoned on the Saturday and were... We were staying locally and passed by this country style pub so decided to try it out and so glad we did. Both of us went for the special which was chicken in garlic, white wine, cheese and mushroom sauce, now I've eaten this in the past at other places but this was by far the best I've had. What... Having just moved back to Burniston village in the last few months I thought I would give the oak wheel a try because as a kid I grow up been taken there for plenty of evening meals and even the odd Xmas dinner. Well what can I say the rustic pub is still as homely and welcoming as I remember... More
