Recommended to us as being good for its food we were not disappointed. Two different meals one pie with succulent beef and crisp pastry the other a huge ham salad of such variety and quality meat. Welcoming staff but not smotheringly intrusive. Would recommend and will go back next time in Scarborough.

Stayed here for 3 nights in August and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Good ale (Taylors Landlord on offer) and food. Room was clean and tidy with comfy bed and located in Burniston with in easy reach of Scarborough and many other attractions of North Yorkshire coastline. Also close to the Cycle track between Scarborough and Whitby. Food was good hearty... More

We arrived early for our booking and were seated almost right away. A party of four and we all chose something different from the menu. The meals arrived freshly cooked and piping hot, vegetables where shared between us but there was more than enough and a pleasant change from the soggy overcooked broccoli and cauliflower we had at another pub... Good sized room, clean and well equipped, located in an annex rather than above the bar, so very quiet at night. Friendly welcome, and had the impression the inn is run by someone who combines professionalism with a relaxed approach. Had the sense that long distance walkers (and veggies!) weren't the standard clientele at the Oakwheel, but we were made... More

I've never stayed here but always drive up from Hull for the food. I've eaten just about everywhere and always like to try new places but I can genuinely say in the hole of East and North Yorkshire this is by far the best. Prices are very reasonable and the portion sizes are very good, always cooked to perfection. My... More

We stayed at The Oakwheel Inn a few years ago and had said we would go back one day and so when we needed a hotel for a couple of nights in the area to break up a road trip this was the first place we thought of and wanted to book. The rooms are really nicely decorated and comfy,... More

Staff were very friendly and helpful. The room and ensuite were a good size and had everything you needed. Room was nicely decorated and good value. The breakfast was good and the evening meals were very good, would definitely recommend eating there too. Good location, not far to drive to explore the coast. I would stay again.
