Rather tatty and ill kept, the food in the bar was fair and plentiful. Handy computer in front lobby available. Staff could not be more helpful! more

The hotel is an old style Irish country hotel with admittedly some tired furnishings. However they have a reasonably well priced Sunday - Thursday offer inclusing dinner bar meal. The location is convenient to Wicklow town and surroundings. The bar food is good and service is prompt and efficient. Overall average but not as bad as expected based on previous... more

Following our stay at The Grand Hotel Wicklow, I feel that it is necessary to express my disappointment at the service we received. On arrival we were allocated 3 double rooms on the second floor. When we went to our room, the beds were unmade, there were dirty towels on the floor and clearly the room had not been cleaned!... more

My only ever experience of a bad Irish hotel. My room was directly over the kitchen, and as a result the heat in my room was unbearable. At 6am a huge industrial fan came on outside my room window that sounded like a 747 waiting to take off. I stay in Wicklow quite a bit and will be going back... more

Please let this be a warning to anyone considering staying in “The Grand Hotel”, Wicklow, Ireland. I had occasion to stay there for 1 night and would recommend not staying in this hotel. We were going to a party on a Saturday evening, checked-in, got changed and had a quick drink in the bar and then off we went to... more

We should have seen it coming. We read the other reviews but thought they were slightly exaggerated. We didn't need anything fancy, just a room to stay in after our visit to the Wicklow Gaol. So we gave the benefit of the doubt. BIG MISTAKE. As we walked into the (extremely basic) room, we were hit by an icy blast,... more

The appearance may be grand, but the stay wasn't..... Where do I start....this was the dirtest hotel we stayed in during our 13 day holiday in Ireland, but one of the most expensive....the shower was scary...the grout was very bad, the showerhead was dirty, there was a too-long, dirty shower curtain that rested in the tub, the sink self-stopper got... more

I am trying to be fair. In reality it might be I should not have expected much but it was fairly awful. The staff were friendly but the room was not clean (someones gum on the bathroom flooor and I had to ask them to vacum the room after 3 nights). Breakfast was a mushy, fatty nightmare. Be prepared. It... more

This hotel is a hotel that's pretty average. In fairness the room we stayed in was very nice. The hotel itself is a bit grotty. and be careful about staying there at the weekend, there's a nightclub downstairs. you're need a few drinks to get some sleep! having said that it's in a good location, the staff are friendly. would... more
