The Grand is in a good location and has its own good restaurant and bar, which are reasonably priced. The Breakfast was excellent and the service was very good. The rooms we had were very big and clean, with tea and coffee - there were two main issues WIFI in the rooms is a bit of a myth, we were... More

It's taken a while for me to write this review - sorry!! My husband arranged our wedding with his best man in 3 weeks. He chose the Grand hotel for accommodation and catering, for 75 guests from around the globe. They went above and beyond what is expected, even for 5 star standard. He decided on a beach wedding (Silver... More

I visited just as a diner for an all day breakfast. The service was slow but the food was good although nothing exceptional that warranted the price of 9.95 for a breakfast. Monica was the only staff member who showed any friendliness the rest of the staff members were under dressed and unwelcoming

We went to the Grand for lunch following a Confirmation. The dining room was set up nicely for the large parties arriving that day. they even had a table set up off to the side for children to color. Lunch was very nice. I opted for the soup to start and my sister-in-law and I ordered the beef and the... More

I revisited the Grand Hotel in Wicklow town recently for breakfast. I remember having written about this hotel about a year ago and I am pleased to relate that the meal was every bit as good as it was last year. In the meantime they have changed the crockery and it is now has a more contemporary feel to it.... More

This was our second visit to the Grand Hotel as our golfing group had booked it again after our good experience last year. As a gregarious group of golfers, we spent the days on the course and the evenings in the hotel bar and the pubs around the town, so the rooms were only used for a few hours each... More

I also agree with the other reviews that the hotel is "tired around the edges" i found it hard to open the room door with the key the room was spotless and comfortable had a good nights sleep but you can see in places were it could be updated throughout and outside, breakfast was in the restaurant and was nice... Have just spent two nights at the Grand, on a bed and breakfast basis, whilst over in Ireland on a short golfing trip, and without doubt it was a very pleasant experience. Many reviews make mention of the fact that the hotel is in need of refurbishment in certain areas, and whilst that is undeniably true it should not detract... More

I agree with some of the other reviews that say the hotel is "tired around the edges". You can see that here and there, but the building has great bones. I first saw the hotel from the road into town from Dublin Airport and knew that's where I wanted to stay. The lobby, restaurant and breakfast room have a lot... More
