This hotel is big and looks more like a mansion, rooms were clean, but the TV never worked which it was okay with us, since we just wanted to do lots of walking trough the town. The stuff was very helpful and cheerful. The bar is great and so is the restaurant.

Stayed here during the start of the Round Ireland Yacht Race. Found all staff friendly and helpful. The bedroom was comfortable and clean and food good. Brilliantly situated at the centre of Wicklow town and has great character. Fully recommended

We had our wedding reception here twenty five years ago and decided to re-vist to celebrate. When we booked the hotel in 1989 it had just been refurbished and was a very modern fit out in an old building. We stayed in room 201 and it shows serious signs of wear and tear. The bed was disastrous. 4' 6" lumpy... More

Stayed here for one night. The rooms are very basic and need of total upgrade bathrooms terrible. The hotel is far from Grand and it's star rating would be 2 star at the most. Also stayed here on long weekend and the prices were jacked up making it very expensive which you would pay at a 5 star hotel. The... More

This is maybe a two star hotel at best. The location and their breakfast are great. Their rooms are very worn and they allow smoking in the rooms - you need to request a non-smoking room if this bothers you or you may be assigned a smoking room. We did not find anything comfortable about the room or the hotel... More

stayed here for 1 night recently. The single room was very dated, but clean.managed to get a good deal on a room with breakfast & 3 course dinner. Staff we're very polite & helpful. Nice brief stay, but you wouldn't war t to impress anyone here. Biggest plus was the 3 course meal. Good selection & very tasty

Stayed for a night at the grand hotel. Unfortunately the hotel name doesn't meet the expectations. The hotel is very dated and in need of a major face lift! Staff are very pleasant and helpful. Bar food very average. The restaurant was closed.

We were a party of golfers from County Down on a weekend away to sample the golf courses of Wicklow. The rooms were very basic, but they were clean and provided all we needed as we were on the golf course by day and in the pubs of the town at night, so only needed somewhere to rest our weary...
