We stayed one night at the castle. I knew the rooms were not actually in the castle so no surprise there. Kathleen, the host was very welcoming with tea & biccies on arrival. We were the only guests that night so were given a choice of room on the top floor. We chose the west-facing room to avoid the early... more

Yes, you don't actually stay in the castle, but the adjoining farmhouse was built in the 17th century so it is still pretty amazing. The kids loved exploring the castle and grounds. Definitely recommend! more

I will admit that I was disappointed at first. The driveway to the castle was beautiful but then I learned that none of the rooms were actually in the old castle. My planned to stay here because I wanted to stay in a castle. The castle itself was just used for storage and you were not allowed in. I did... more

Superb B&B based in a farmhouse adjoining an old castle. Owners couldn't have been more helpful. Great hot cooked early breakfast in time to get to the ferry. Quirky surroundings, love the castle, and the cows! Fabulous. more

This was my favorite B&B in Ireland. We stayed here one night, wish it was longer, and it was just delightful. The bed and breakfast is in a modern building connected to an old castle that is fun to poke around in. THere are gardens, a tennis court, chicken coops, and a farmwalk to walk around in. This place is... more

We stayed at Killiane Castle for one night after leaving Dublin and beginning our tour of southern and western Ireland. Our family room was comfortable and clean and we enjoyed having tea in the sitting room. The kids absolutely loved exploring the castle ruins and the working farm - with a resident dog, chickens, cows, horses, etc. - on the... more

Staying at Killiane Castle was like stepping back in time. The property is beautiful, the hosts charming and the surrounds are stunning with rolling fields, gorgeous gardens and the castle itself as a dramatic backdrop. We were initially dismayed with how remote it is from town as we were reliant on public transport - and there didn't seem to be... more

I recently toured southern Ireland with some friends. On our first night we stayed at Killiane Castle. You don't actually stay in the castle because it is falling in, but the attached rooms are delightful. You can tour the castle, but be careful. Kathleen is a gracious host, making us comfortable and answering all our questions about where to eat,... more

We (wife and me) stayed there 1 night. Room was very clean and functional (small by US standards); but fine for our one night stay. There is no lift (elevator) in the facility, so be prepared to lug your luggage up the stairs. Jack, one of the owners, helped us. Breakfast was excellent; we had several choices and all was... more

Just a one-night stay at this 17th century guesthouse attached to a 15th century castle, but we had a lovely time. Kathleen greeted us warmly on arrival, and showed us the double and twin rooms that we had booked. Both were on the second (ie. top) floor, so it was a battle getting our luggage up the stairs, but the... more
