Stayed there with my husband and two sons. Wanted somewhere traditional, affordable and close to town. Hearty breakfast with friendly service. Would strongly recommend it for its location, price and friendliness. more

We stayed in a family room with a double bed and two single beds for 1 night. The room felt old and not well maintained- holes in sheets and light bulb that didn't work. Woke up very early to catch a plane in Dublin (about 2.5 hours away) and couldn't get the shower to work. We left before breakfast was... more

This hotel is more like a hostel. Room was pretty awful, dirty, holes in the sheets. We waited OVER AN HOUR for breakfast to arrive (which we had been asked to book a time for) before we gave up waiting, so couldn't comment on the food. I did not feel safe in this hotel, the area around the hotel was... more

Not a 5 star deluxe and not a camping. Basic rooms; good bed; very small tv and bathroom but warm and friendly people. Price/quality is a little bit discutable. more

We stayed in the Portree Guesthouse for a weekend break in August. NEVER AGAIN. The internet pictures of the Guesthouse are totally misleading. All thats good about this place is the location. We were put in a grotty room right above the kitchen, you basically couldn't swing a cat in it, the bathroom was tiny with a dripping tap and... more

We stayed here for 2 nights with our 12 year old son, the room was very scruffy and cramped you had no room to move .There was no maps for the area so it was difficult to find our way to the shops and restuarants.... No facilities in the room apart from a TV. The shower room very cramped and... more

The price was a little high for the service you get. The rooms are dated. Our bath was old and dirty. The whole 3 nights we stayed we only recieved clean towels, your beds were never made, trash never taken out. I even had trash from the last guests in my trash cans. The toliets were never cleaned. The shower handle... more

Myself and my girlfriend were looking for a place that was reasonably priced and in a central location. Portree ticked both boxes. On arrival we were greated by a very friendly man, Darius I think his name was. Very pleasant and friendly. Our Room was on the first floor which at first I thought would lead to a problem with... more

As soon as we arrived, the guesthouse stood out as a fine, well maintained building with a free car park to top it off. The welcome was so genuine and friendly and the staff made us all feel at home. The falimy room was bright, clean and very comfy and the breakfast was wonderful. We honestly couln't fault the guesthouse... more
