I booked my stay through ignorance. I wish I'd seen this web site before booking my one night castle experience. What a disappointment! All that money for an old, dirty room. I mean really black mold on the window, what appeared to be wine stains on the wall, a filthy holey bedspread, a headboard with material worn thin and stained... more

Where to begin? One complaint that repeats itself here in these reviews is the condition of the rooms and their furnishings. If you enjoy spending an exorbitant amount of money to sleep in an old, dirty, dilapidated room then this is the place. Our room had food, I'm hoping, splattered on the walls. Something else splattered over the headboards. Holes... more

This was a beautiful, serene oasis where the service was impeccable and absolutely worth a visit. The grounds are beautiful, the room very comfortable (and we likely had the smallest, lowest end available - which was still wonderful - because of how we booked) and dinner in the bar area was delicious and fun. We chose to have a less... more

We arrived early. The staff was great. Our room was ready. Beautiful room with a view. The bathroom was spacious, the bath was huge. We loved it. We had dinner at the castle. The food was excellent, The pianist was playing lots of beatle songs which is my favorite. The breakfast was great. We walked around the property . When... more

I loved it here. We stayed just one night as we were driving through Ireland between Killarney and Dublin. We arrived shortly before dinner and ate at the hotel. The food and service was excellent. We sat in the lobby by the fire afterwards. The next day we had breakfast and checked out and toured the Waterford factory before heading... more

I judge a hotel on whether it is one that sticks in my memory and is one that I would go back to, and I would definately go back to Waterford Castle. We stayed in a standard double room and it was bigger then a usual standard double. The room is slightly old-fashioned but elegant. The bed was large and... more

We stayed in the Presidential Suite and it was a huge room and in very good condition and very appropriate to a castle. The golf course was very challenging and in great condition and the staff at the golf course went out of their way to be helpful. Our big dissapointment was the service at the Castle itself. Although the... more

We stayed in the Waterford Castle Hotel for our first night in Ireland, and were not disappointed. Although we were planning to do mostly western Ireland in B&Bs, we opted for our first night at a more high-end property, and were glad we did. (Although the one-night package that included dinner and breakfast would was nearly triple what we paid... more

LOCATION: Perfect since about 10 minutes out of the city center. We thought we may have made a mistake about booking this hotel due to it's location, but Waterford is a busy town and this hotel is so peaceful and relaxing that we were happy to be here. You must take a ferry across the island which is a nice... more
