First stage of our 10 day visit to Ireland I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the hotel which was part of a pre-booked tour. Room was large and comfortable, but what I especially enjoyed was the delicious breakfast buffet and cooked to order hot breakfast. In addition there is a fabulous pub / restaurant offering good food and... More

Waterford is a really small city, and this hotel is its bejeweled heart. It's modern enough to keep you comfortable, but still retains its turn of the century classiness that makes it real. We enjoyed a delicious dinner: the lamb stew is sensational, and the salmon is amazing. I'm sure anything on the menu will please. We also enjoyed their... More

We only stayed for one night as part of our Collette Vacations tour of Ireland. We had a beautiful room with a view of the river and a decent (included) supper. Breakfast was quite good but the real treat was the porridge. We had a big bowl of porridge with Muldoon's Irish Liqueur. And it was very good. Other options... More

Location is perfect with the river in front of you and shopping behind you. However I found this hotel is quite popular with the older generation, not that there's anything wrong with that it's just not for a young crowd. Alcohol choices are limited (particular cider) and cocktails are very overpriced, even more expensive than Dublin Temple bar prices! Rooms... More

Everything about this hotel was superb. From the very friendly reception to the great atmosphere in the bar. Lovely food at breakfast and dinner. The staff were great. We will be back and will stay longer.

Thomas Francis Meagher was born in the building now occupied by this hotel and he has two claims to fame: one as the originator of the Irish Tricolour and one as a decorated US civil war soldier on the Union side who went on to become the first governor of the state of Montana. The Granville is a good three... More

this hotel has spacious modern bedrooms, a very large bar which serves great food and the restaurant is perfect for a special evening meal. The breakfast menu had great variety and food presentation (even for breakfast) was amazing. Plenty of parking accross the road in a public car park, take your carpark ticket to reception for validation, paarked at 6pm... More

We booked a three night break and when we arrived we were given a room that was a twin rather than a double which we had booked. But immediately on ringing the receptionist she organised for me to view an alternative view and gave me the choice of rooms. We had a beautiful room with very tasteful, calm colours. The... More

Old quaint hotel in the heart of Waterford , on the quay , close to shopping etc, rooms good size , my view was an air con unit out the back, there are river views though, food in bar quite good. Didn't use restaurant , staff pleasant , breakfast time can be very busy particularly 9/10 , signs in lifts... More
