Decided to treat some elderly relatives to a nice dinner in Waterford, and found that the restaurant at the Granville Hotel offers a surprisingly good value fixed-price dinner menu. We had three courses plus coffee, and a decent bottle of wine (far from the cheapest) and it was only €35 a head including the wine! The portions were generous and... More

With my work day going longer than expected I needed to stay overnight in Waterford and this was one of the only places with availability . I was not expecting a lot but was more than surprised. The service from all the staff from check in to check out was superb. The room was a little bit dated but comfortable... More

What a beautiful hotel! I wish we could have stayed more than one night! Although the room was not air conditioned, I did appreciate having the fan available and knowing the common areas were air conditioned did help. The breakfast and dinner options were great and we were within walking distance of many things.

Delightfully warm welcome. A well maintained hotel, bar and restaurant. Nice decor and details of the history of the building which made the stay interesting. A very good location. Take a Jack's Walking Tour from here to learn more about the history of Waterford told in an interesting way. Plenty of parking across the street in the public carpark and... More

An absolutely delightful hotel to stay at. Travelling as a single on a group tour the room provided was very elegantly furnished, keeping with the theme throughout the hotel. Deep in the history of Waterford, this hotel is a breath of fresh air for the traveller with all amenities available including free wifi (rare in the UK). Dining in their... More

Delightful stay in a handsome old fashioned hotel. We stayed in room 312 which I recommend for being slightly different in layout. It had a huge bed (two singles firmly bolted together) which we appreciated as Waterford was surprisingly warm, and the room was on the third floor (warmer!.) I love old fashioned hotels with the large grand staircases and... More

We stayed here one night on our CIE tour. It was a fine hotel with much old time charm. We were on the fourth floor and had a beautiful room but the bathroom was small and needed upgraded. Since we are pretty athlectic we didn't mind climbing stairs up and down to our room. We thought the bar and public... More

We had the pleasure of staying in this hotel on a recent trip. The staff is outstanding and really go out of their way to make you feel welcome. The meals were the best I've had in a long time and portions were generous. The hotel has a historic feel (which I enjoy) and the amenities were comfortable. Not too... More

The Granville Hotel is in a very convenient location for visiting Waterford. Waterford is a small city , so you can walk to any sight, including the House of Waterford Crystal, and Reginald's Tower, from this hotel. The hotel is beautiful and staff is lovely, including the front desk people and the ladies who serve breakfast in the morning. I... More
