Everything about our stay was perfect, the atmosphere, the cleanliness, the ambiance and the people were exactly what one would expect in a quaint Irish town. Our room was elegant, yet met all of the modern needs of a great hotel. Our Dinner was served "Downton Abbey" style each server individually serving you your choices, dessert was an amazing berry... Hi, 10 minutes walk across the bridge from the Train Station, The Granville Hotel, Waterford City, is located in a prime location on the river front, a couple of hundred metres from all shopping, the Waterford Crystal showrooms, Viking Hotel and other popular attractions. I called my review the lesser Shelbourne Hotel experience because everything about this beautiful hotel reminded... More

We went for the bar food on the advice of the B&B owner. Her words were 5 star hotel but not 5 star food prices and she wasn't wrong. The hotel is absolutely beautiful, the food was delicious and service was of a high quality. It certainly felt like we received value for money. We will be back to stay... More

We were spending a night in Waterford to attend a 70th birthday party and had booked another hotel - we had looked at the Granville but the other hotel was cheaper. On the morning of our trip, the other hotel phoned to say they had had some kind of flood and had rebooked us into the Granville AND it was... More

this was the best hotel I stayed at during 3 weeks in Ireland and there were many great places where we stayed. The service here was outstanding from the front desk to houskeeping to the bartenders to the breakfast servers... especially the servers. We felt like family being greeted with warm smiles and excellent food. I complemented the management when... More

We were fresh off the ferry from Rosslare, and were lucky enough to have randomly booked a room in this gorgeous hotel in this gorgeous town. Having stayed at a Holiday Inn in Bristol the night before, the Granvile Hotel felt like an absolute Irish antidote to the bland, corporate chain hotel theme. We had a warm welcome and a... More

Wonderful stay at this beautiful hotel on the prom. Try to book a room overlooking the river. Room 514 was just perfect and a delight to stay in. The whole hotel is quite classy with everything top grade and perfectly maintained. Staff were exceptionally fine. Best hotel of our entire trip----and very, very affordable for the value given. Very quiet.

We were on a 16 day tour and this was definitely my favorite hotel of the trip. It is hard to describe, but it is beautifully decorated, although not over-the-top and is not exceptionally large, but seemed like it could have been from a Hollywood Movie. Built in the 1700's, the decor maintains old-world elegance and charm. Our meals in... More

Well worth the stay. A must to eat in the restaurant. Delicious food. Just around the corner from the shopping mall. Walking distance to Waterford Crystal. Rooms are of good size. Comfy beds. Ask for a room over looking the river. Double glazed widows in the front rooms. Excellent hospitality. Thoroughly recommend. Old world charm.

I loved this beautiful boutique hotel which used to be a very grand townhouse. It is right in the middle of Waterford City on the quay and the view from my room was of a beautiful domed cathedral. Tapestries line the walls of a meeting room downstairs, adding to the feeling that you have stepped back in time to a... More
