booked after looking at their website, photos looked good, for 69euros all we were expecting was a clean and tidy room. We got neither. the room was beyond horrible, the décor consisted of cracked walls peeling paint and plaster. the carpet was disgusting it was scary to stand on. the bed sank in the middle. the shower cubicle was vile.... On the plus side - the location is close to major attractions, the owner was very helpful (except when I asked for ice and was told he didn't have any, despite the fact that I had been given some the previous evening), the breakfast was good. On the down side - everything else! The place was dark; carpets were either... More

Three of us booked into the Anchorage and found the place value for the money we paid. The entire place was clean and the breakfast was more than we could have asked for. A very pleasant Michael took my booking; but was away when we arrived. However, his staff did him proud and we were very impressed.

I stayed at this guest house this weekend with some friends during a roadtrip. I have to say that I am glad we only had to spend one night there. The owner, Michael, is super friendly, and it is great that there are accommodations for people traveling on a budget. For this price, you get what you pay for. The... More

"Cheap" (50€/double) but I would pay more for a decent/more central place. 15mins walk to main sights, cracks all over the room, bad view, uncomfy bed, no soundproof but owner is very nice! Go if on strict budget/one night. There's also a parking just facing the hotel.

I must admit it's taken me a long time to write this, but I'd like to say a big thank you to Michael & the staff for making me feel welcomed during my 5 night stay in April 2013. The accommodation was very comfortable, spotless, and breakfast was lovely . Additionally, the hospitality was outstanding with Michael & staff being... More

Location is grand. Across the road from the busterminal, and across the river from the train. Breakfast was OK plus. However room was not up to scratch. And traffic noise really got going at the break of dawn. Staff friendly and helpfull.

This was not my choice of hotel. The guest house overlooks the River Suir, minutes from the bus and railway stations and ideally situated for the town centre. I read the reviews before I went so was not surprised to find that this guest house needed updating. The carpet on the stairs was dangerously threadbare. The room was sparse, the... More

Although clean and the linen was nice and crisp and freshly laundered the whole place could do with a bit of decorating. Fine for an over night stay if you are not too fussy about the decor. Cheap and cheerful you get what you pay for with this place. Very friendly staff.
